Community Bounty Hunter T10 Edition Week 4/3 - Unicorn Prize!

This week's CBH is a T10 employee, and the prize is a UNICORN! Woo-hoo!

Hey there, racers.

I'm your bounty target for this week... my name's Peter and I'm a tools guy at Turn 10. I write the applications used by the artists to help them build the cars and tracks you see in Forza, and I work on most of the tools in the pipeline that processes the art into game-ready format. Pretty much anything you see in Forza when you're on track has been created or processes using the tools I work on.

This week's bounty hunter event is an autocross in S-class cars. Taming the power of these supercars will be important as you weave through the cones in this Autocross challenge on Mugello. Precision driving will be your key to victory in this event. Tuning setups are allowed within restrictions.

The prize this week is up to you. I've got a list of three unicorns that I like, but I couldn't decide which one to give away. So I'm throwing it open to you all to pick which car should be given to anybody who can beat my time. Let me know which car it should be and tell me why. I'll pick the car based on the best reason that gets posted.

So pick one of the following unicorns and tell me why that one should be the prize for anybody that can beat my time:

You can tune the car to your liking as long as it's S class and weighs over 3000 lbs. Should be able to get a better handling car than say a stock ZR1. :) Ran a 3:00.7xx in the 458. Will probably play around with several different cars to see what works best. Acceleration and handling will matter more than top speed obviously. I wonder if AWD would be better than RWD or FWD.

That'll depend. I've got a Ford GT (RWD) that I can pin it, and all it does is sqats and goes (no TCS). And it's a bloody missle...ask Gizzie!

Well. He set a time.

3:45.183

If he took out five or six cones then his actual time would have been closer to 3:15-3:20.

Think he'll try and better it before the 10th? He doesn't say he will but he did admit to using a bone stock GT-R.

I have a Superleggera and I'll be getting the Skyline from March VIP Rivals so I'm going to make my case for the Shelby GT500.

Key to this challenge is really going to be getting a clean run. At 5 seconds per cone you can afford to slow to a crawl long before each group of cones and then use the power of the car to get back up to speed.

I put in my vote for the Shelby, but he's actually looking for a "good reason" to pick the Shelby rather than just basing it on votes. Most people are just voting regardless. I really hate having duplicate Unicorns that you can't gift or do anything else with.

Most of the votes I've read so far are just stating the obvious and aren't really creative. The best one was a Beatie Boy rap for the GT500.

My "vote"...

Isn't it easy to see why the Ford GT500 is the best?

It's made by one of the oldest and most respected automobile manufacturers...in the wooorld.

With a 5.4 litre V8, it has the largest displacement of the three. .4 litres more than the Italian Sheep and 2.8 litres more than the Datsun.

It creates more foot pounds of torque as well.

It's more versatile. With it's base PI putting it solidly in the B Class, players can upgrade and tune the GT500 across multiple production classes and possibly even into R3.

Is it really worth upgrading an S class car into R3-R1 where it will be dominated by the big boys of the R classes?

Real drivers prefer RWD. :-)

Who doesn't love the sound of a big beefy American V8 when you stomp on the loud pedal?

The prize should be the GT500 because it's just....better.

To be honest though, I must say I already have the Superleggera and I'll be receving the R34 from the March VIP Rivals event next week.

I don't have the GT500 yet. I'm voting for it purely to serve my own selfish interests.

But I'm ok with that.

Just used my Gallardo S and did a 3.06.127. I hit the last cone as well. If I missed it I would have gone above Asstrack

Currently sat 194th though

Although I would have been 87th

Current time to beat is: 3:26.150 Since there is no KoTT this month, this is probably the best and easiest opportunity to win a Unicorn. I used Ziggy's 458, and beat the time in my 2nd try. Switched to M3 GTR and am at 3:18.215 using TCS after 3 tries with much more left on the table since the tune is capable of sub-3 minutes. Probably won't run it again unless T10TailHappy improves his time or decides it's going to be the Shelby. I already have the other two Unicorns.

Not "official" T10 ones like the Community Bounty Hunter. That typically is one event per week.

There are some other "Bounty" type events running. The one I'm working with Me Monkey 8 Me just went live today. Posting the info in separate thread.

He's still running an untuned car. Plus in watching his lap, I'd say he's using a wheel or he's reeeaaallly smooth on the controller.
He's been hinting that he'll run a tuned car but no idea when or if that will be his final time to beat.

As I was looking through my garage to see what other cars I might like to try and improve my time with, I pulled out this...

Yes. That is a Ford Country Squire.
It's my "Vote" for the unicorn I want since I dropped the GT500 engine in it.

It took me more than a few tries but I was able to lower my time to 2:59.363.
I can't even tell you how many times I had my previous lap beaten only to clip a cone in the final stretch. Very aggrivating process but pleased with the result. Now I just need to wait and see if the time holds.

I've definitley run out of talent with it, but I also don't think it'll go much faster without some additional tweaks.

I'll throw the car up into the West Garage for anyone that wants to take it for a spin. It's AWD so it's got a smidge of push but it's pretty stable with very little wheelspin.
I did my standard base tune process which is nothing more than picking the parts I want, quick upgrade to max out the class PI, ForzaTune and FantomasTune.

If anyone wants the tune to mess with, let me know.

I did try a similar tuning process but left it RWD. It was a bit too tail happy for my tastes.

If you check the T10TailHappy profile you'll see it's a silver status, so I couldn't upload anything. I was watching the forums all week and saw that people who'd already got me as a favorite were helping others out by pointing them towards their own profiles where they could link to mine. There are a few of those kinds of posts in the first five pages of this thread.

Thanx--took it easy on back third just to get safely under 3 mins. That AWD M3 GTR tune is pretty good.

Still, not quite as impressive as driving that boat around the course--nice job!

One of our alien drivers, Murph, also took a big butt Ford GT with Ziggy's tune and put it in the Top 25.

Ziggy actually has at least five different tunes that will beat the time. So if anyone is struggling and needs a tune, please message me.

I just realized I could have added the forza aero to the front and rear without going over 700PI.
Not sure if it would have helped the slow cone zones, but something to play with.

It was interesting watching the numbers move around. Early in the week, one car was really dominant. But then towards the end the supporters of one of the other cars really came alive. But when the final numbers were counted up, it came out to a pretty clear winner.
