In the D2NR garage is an Opel that I rean with that rocks. It was OK to start with but then I turned on TCS and its like a different car. You can put your foot down and go. It was 2 seconds faster on average if not waaay more.
My best clean so far is a 1.42.5 and I ran a few 1.41.xs dirty. I ran one 1.41.5 that I had to go back and watch the replay because it said it was dirty and I can't for the life of me see where. It might have been the unforgiving run off section right before the last turn before that lap that killed me and I just didn't see the warning pop. The car is capable of some great times with TCS on. I will get a clean 1.41 or better in it I am sure.
Another FWIW: I find that laps 2-4 are the best chances early on for fast laps.
OH yeah, I know I posted before about traffic blocking in the monkey event... I did no blocking what so ever on this one and ran well. I guess a super fast, grippy car doesn't need much help.
I can gift it out to anyone that wants that isn't in the D2NR garage (or if you are there as well). Its the start of the Rangers playoffs tonite so I might not get back on.
I sent it to M3 for testing/consideration, but I figured since this is a short event I would just offer what it is now until M3 decides to release it or not.
Logging in in a few minutes and will send it over. I generally stay away from TCS but it works sooooo much better with it on so I wuold recommend using it with it.
............ that Lotus.. Holy Shit does that thing get up and go...
I'm trying to work out a slightly better build/tune for the Lotus. I couldn't get the 14.882 that Rocket got in that build/tune, but one I just worked on earlier I got that time a bunch of times. Gonna see if M3 can best his time in the new one to compare and if so, we'll push that out.
Who'd thunk that a Lotus would be a good grad car weighing slightly more than a wet sack of hair!
I hate these events, but I will give this one a shot since it's some people I know. Psyber or anyone else with the Opel tune please send it over so I can try it tonight. Thanx.
I'll try again with Psyber's tune once it is up in the East garage. I tried it with an untuned Audi and failed to get a decent clean lap. Damn AI know how to mess that up.
I can gift the tune over to you guys (zed, I am not sure you are on my FL, if not, shoot me a FR, and I will hook you up).
FWIW: I ran today, 3 laps in total on one run.
Lap 1... whatever...
Lap 2: 1.40.4 something, but I scraped a car on turn one to dirty it and I didn't rewind. I should have rewound and then slowed down and would have still hit a 1.40.6 or so. Note to self, if I screw the pooch on T1, rewind and don't screw the pooch!
Lap 3: 1.41.6. Could have been a little faster but traffic wasn't as 'nice' as last lap.
It seems that laps 2-4 are the sweet spots and I will restart/finish the race once I finish lap 4 from now on. Its less frustrating and somewhat predicatable after you run a few "sets" of 2-4 full laps.
You can get through the critical turns taking either a normal line but a tad slower or find an outside or inside line that is almost as fast as normal without really weaving or worrying too much. With TCS on I can floor it and hold that line and say goodbye.
I'm not saying its still not a pain in the ass but its much more consistent and predicatable in the initial laps of the event.
Yeah, I bought one for this challenge.. Wow is it Yellow... I forgot to turn on TCS, I'll have to try it w/ TCS on and see how she goes.. It handles really well, and rotates realy well in the corners, I like it a lot.
Damn, this ends today, and I didn't realize it. :/ I did post an OK time, but not good enough.. :( I turned TCS on last night, and it was like a different car. Wow. I had a 1:45.6, but I had a damn AI car brush a fender on a straight, and dirtied the lap. After that, I just couldn't get my groove back to hit the time required. Thing of it is, is I think I probably could have made it to 1:43.xxx :/
I ran the cone challenge a few hours late and still got the car and one of the drift events I ran late in the evening and got the car.
I heard others say that on FM.net too.
I think that unless they gift the cars out the day it ends, that any time posted on the date will be valid.
If the car is something that you wanted, I would say run it again today unless you hear that the car already went out to everyone which I don't believe ever happened on the same day it ended.

Anyway........
Send it to everyone and anyone you want...except for Foot!
If any of the garage heads want, I can get the tune to you tonight for your club garages.
Send it over. I can do a quick livery with some 2O4F signage and put it in the West Garage.
Send me a copy and I'll put it up in the East garage please.
If you get it Oldschool could you send it to me and I'll put it in the Euro garage.
Psyber, I'd love to give that tune a shot if you could send it to me. :)
Sure.
Logging in in a few minutes and will send it over. I generally stay away from TCS but it works sooooo much better with it on so I wuold recommend using it with it.
Anyway.......
Above A class, I usually turn TCS on, except for that Drag tune M3 has on his SF with that Lotus.. Holy Shit does that thing get up and go...

Cars up in east garage, it's very yellow...
Car is in the Euro garage, it's yellow over here too.

Mines sporting a Martini Livery....

What time is the deadline? I forgot all about this. Damn NHL playoffs.
Finally!!!! Thanks ChurchPro!!!! Chasing you helped me beat the time !!!!
Deadline was 8am PDT today. So it's technically ended.
Oh well
Yeah, the end time is bullcrap.
I ran the cone challenge a few hours late and still got the car and one of the drift events I ran late in the evening and got the car.

Yeah i was a few hours late with the NSX-R but still got it
AFAIK, they don't pull the leaderboard data immediately after the "deadline" so you may still ahve a chance to get your lap in and claim your prize.
With all the FM.net login problems (still not fixed), I doubt the LB data has been pulled yet. I'd say go ahead and try to beat it.
...Edit
Ignore what I just said. I went to FM without logging in, and I see that phRED pulled the LB data around 4p.m. PDT. :(
