BLOPS 2???
Well it looks more and more that it will be a BLOPS 2

Here are something from the leak:
- Drop Zone and Kill Confirmed will return
- Team Defender and Infected will not return
Pointstreaks
- Will follow from Modern Warfare 3’s system
- Larger emphasis on objectives
- RC XD will not return
- Heat vision
- > Is a new Pointstreak reward
- > When you get the required points, you can activate this Pointstreak and your player pulls out a scope and attaches it to your weapon.
- > This scopes main advantage is it’s ability to detect enemies through most walls.
- > Note, the scope can only be attached to primaries not including shotguns
- Item Packages
- > Requires 5 points
- > Fall along side care packages and air drop traps.
- > Features a list of package items only
- > Including ammo, mini gun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and body armor
Prestiges
- There will be 15 prestiges
- There will be 50 ranks
- Every two prestiges there is a 5 rank increase
- The final prestige has 90 levels
Removed
- No MOAB or Nuke
- No last stand
- No death streaks
- No flame thrower attachment
Map Design
- Map design and size will be following Black Ops not Modern Warfare 3
Sniper Rifles
- Improved sniper rifle usage.
- No aim assist for any sniper rifle.
- Less sway
Hardcore
- Larger emphasis on hardcore than ever before
- No grenade launchers
- Only vehicle guided rocket launchers permitted
- Respawn timings decreased (for most modes)
- 1 bullet in the foot will no longer kill a person, a head or chest shot is usually required.
- A person will now bleed out if severely injured.
Combat Training
- Will be returning with vast improvements.
- Difficulty is no longer based on how long the bots take to start shooting.
- Bots now have an advance AI system
- Similar to the behavior seen in the MW3 Spec Ops survival
This is only rumours, so it is hard to say if it is true. I really hope it is.

How had anyone questioned if there was ever going to be a Blops 2? COD is a freakin' cash cow. Activision knows they can pump out shit and us idiots will continue to buy it. They need 2 or 3 dogs in a row in order to kill the franchise. Expect to see another COD in 2013 and 2014 at the very least.
I think BO was the best COD since MW and I hope Treyarch continues to set the bar.

Yup. And Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Far Cry 3, Assassin’s Creed III, etc. Kudos to Max Payne 3 and Spec Ops: The Line for missing the Sept/Oct/Nov release season.

CoD is not going against Halo. CoD releases in the same 7 day window every year and always sells a gabajillion copies. Anything that releases for the fall/holiday season is going against CoD.

I was sorta looking at it from the other way round. Why is it so popular to release games in a calendar slot already dominated by CoD? Halo can hold its own. But then all the rest have to compete for the few remaining teats.
Out of the games I listed, I think I’ll have the most fun with Borderlands. I’m a sucker for Halo. I’ll have to make sure I can afford Santa (and beer) before I buy any others at full price. So CoD used probably for my bday in Feb.

Release today, the game is still on the shelves for Christmas. Release today and you're not directly competing with a shit ton of AAA titles. Release today and you're opportunities abound with stupid holiday gimics like bundles, bobbleheads, and DLC. Just because you release before Sept does not mean that the holiday cannot be profitable. Yet the fad is release in the holiday season. I'm trying to figure out why.

Because by the time Christmas time comes around, everyone knows that the game was a half-ass rehash if it comes out in July.

Elite isn't going anywhere. They have 10 million subscribers. 2 mil coughed up cash to join.

Elite was such a terrible idea. I'll never understand why they wanted to split the community with the map pack releases. Also, the Elite Web page is pure garbage.
Elite, MW3, all garbage. Blops is only worthwhile game in franchise, IMHO
CoD is the new Madden. Basically the same game every year with minor tweaks. With that said, I enjoy the Treyarch games better. W@W and Blops were my most played CoD games
Halo4 will be release Nov 6 I think and the CoD games are released in Nov as well. Since MW2 I have told myself not to buy any more CoD games, but I get all excited and run to the midnight release. This year with both games probably getting released really close together I may for the first time pass on CoD.

So basically they're going to go head to head, should be an interesting fight.
I have always viewed these as two entirely different games. Yeah they are FPS, but they play entirely different and for most of us we are going to get both.
It is never a cod vs halo fight. If i buy both- they both win- i still lose.
Side missions, branching story lines, switching between characters, rts elements? In a CoD campaign?

MP to be set in 2025. Zombies are back.
I actually hate to say this because I've swore off COD since MW2, but Blops2 has actually tickled an interest nerve. Still not saying it's a buy for me but i'm certainly more interested in it than i have been in like 3 years.
Different art styles. CoD graphics>Halo graphics, imo. Plus, CoD runs at 60 frames per second compared to Halo's.
I doubt Halo4 will change that. Screenshots of Halo4 mp graphics look on-par with the look of Halo mp since Halo3, to the layman's eyes.
BlOps graphics are actually better than MW3, believe it or not. BlOps plays smoother and is more vivid. Not surprising really, seeing as MW3 was thrown together by a bunch of new teams after much of IW left Activision.
I expect BlOps2 to raise the CoD bar in some fashion, like BlOps did (theater mode, customizable titles, cool new game modes) plus a return to cool maps that are fun to play.
Mechs! Could be fun. As long as there is not stupid stuff like Predator-like invisibility cloaking or see-through wall hax (Ghost Recon and Halo), I think the mp is going to be something to look forward to.
