Adding some RPG aspects to building defenses and attack weapons is a lot of fun. It forces you to try and work together rather than every man for themselves....unless it's deathmatch.
It'll be a great game to play with the clan. A little spawn-campy if you don't have a good team helping defend your base in TDM or CTF.
I picked this up today. The MP servers aren't up yet. Hopefully tomorrow. Been playing the campaign and am enjoying it. Can't wait to try out the MP and co-op.

BTW, picked this up yesterday so if you guys could shoot me a clan invite, that would be great.
I got a little scared after reading some reviews, but I think I'm going to open it up anyway. I dug the beta and with more open in the full game, hey why not. I listened to a podcast the other day and the clan stuff sounds amazing. I would like to roll with Resist if we get a clan rolling.
I played for quite a while today and overall I had a lot of fun.
I played a few rounds with a good team that communicated and we accomplished a lot, then I played a few rounds with a team that just yelled at each other so I muted them and just did my own thing and still had fun. Teamwork makes this game better, but you can still lone wolf it if you need too, you won't win the game on your own but you can always fly around harassing people or drive a big tank and blow shit up. For me this game is definitely worth the price of admission, plus I just read that all future map packs will be free.

Yeah, you and I were paird up with those other guys for about seven games last night and we were just stomping anyone on the other team.
This is a great game. I like it more than Warhawk. I love when you hop on one of those scooter things (can't remember what they're called) and that western music kicks in -- That makes me smile every time.
However there are a few things about it that bother me, just little things though, like the interface on the home screen or whatever it is, I don't understand why you can't change your skill setting unless you're in a multiplayer game or your homespace, that's stupid. Also, what happened to the proximity mines? There are trophies for doing things with proximity mines and yet there are none. Also there are trophies for "Prospector" stuff, but I have no fucking clue what this "Prospector" shit is, I don't see a game mode or anything... I think that's all I have to bitch about at the moment.
*edit*
I found the proximity mines, they're placed sparsely around the map. The prospector stuff might be co-op, not sure.
New to the clan, just joined and picked this up yesterday. So far I've only played the sp and its not bad at all, definitley different. I'm assuming the mp is pretty close to the same chaos in sp.
If you guys need another for mp feel free to add me, will most likely be on tonight trying it out.
After you dropped off last night, Jot, I figured out what I did wrong with the server setup. You need to specify the gametype for each map.
I need to look through the manual or online and figure out what all those "classic beta", "heavyweight", "lone wolf", etc. settings mean. I think I had it set on "heavyweight" last night but I have no idea what that is.
Yeah, each map you add is automatically set to CTF, and if you change the mode it seems to change the map type for the location to what it thinks is best (each location has two environment settings, small and large.) Heavyweight lets you build everything, classic beta doesn't have tanks but it has jetpacks and hawks, lone wolf is pretty barebones with one man vehicles, if you find a more specific listing online let me know. Variations of those with blitz after them give you a base with things already built as soon as you start.
I ended up going back later and playing a little more and I finally fell into a match where my spawn got raped over and over again because the other team was really good with the hawks. One guy would get the invisibility shield and land and stomp the fuck out of everything while his buddy cluster bombed us. Then they had a handful of guys using the extra skill/perk pretty damn effectively, one guy was a moving spawn beacon, his buddy was invisible on the radar and the third guy had the perk where his melee attacks damaged buildings and vehicles, so they'd hit our base and destroy every single goddamned thing we built.

I earned the "Mancake" trophy yesterday. I know, I know...I thought it had something to do with your mom as well. You get it when you build something and it lands on top of an enemy player. I wasn't even trying to do it. We were getting hammered in our last base and I was quickly ytrying to build a Beam Turret and damn if it didn't fall on top of some poor bastard.
Good beta.

Sign me up. I was a huge Warhawk fan. Starhawk beta was great. Hoping to get in some clan games.

I'm looking forward to getting back to some clan games with this one. See you guys tonight!

So when are we all going to hop on and hit some mp?
I have no idea what the hell is going on most of the time.
Those are two completely different things.
So confused........
That is NSFW and you don't want to click it.

I should be on tomorrow night, I'll send you a friend request Kiko.
All I know is that I'm getting raped in this game. Everytime I join a match I end up on the worst team ever. It's so pissing me off.

Nice. I've been on a few teams where we were the ones kicking ass and a few teams where we were the ass.
Teamwork is critical in this game.
