Somewhat puzzled by the "dragon-napping" incident. I'm hoping the next episode clears it up... I haven't had much of an issue with most of the detours they've taken from the book, but this may be the first. Just wait and see I guess.

I was wondering if I just forgot a section of the books as I didn't remember that part.
I'm totally lost now this season, I can't keep track of all the factions and who's trying to do what and how they're releated. Last season was fine there was four groups of people, this season there's just too many for me, i'm kind of starting to loose interest.

I'm sure there are plenty in here that have read the books and can answer whatever questions you have.

I liked how Arya sat down with Lannister and talked about dragons and Targaryans.
Also "king slayer" knew he wasn't going to escape far, but in order to keep him alive Lady Stark will have to let him go if not her daughter(s) are dead. He knew what he was doing.
I was wondering if they were ever going to mention Stannis background and that of the "Onion Knight". It was done at the beginning of Book 2 but almost till the end of this season.
Sometimes it drags too slow others too fast. If the dragaons are going take years to grow then when the fuck is she going to take control and how without full grown dragons? Sometimes a whole episode will go by without hearing about one of the other clans then in the next show thats all you hear about. I know its all building to something and I think the dragons and the whitewalkers will have showdown or dragons melting the wall and thats where the water comes from in boys dream that covers Winterfell. Having not read any of the books, just taking a stab. Anyway can't wait for the next one.

If you want slow, read the books. We're about 5,000 pages in and I'm still wating on shit to happen.

HEY! I didn't say I wanted it slow! Where in my statement up there did you interpret that? I would prefer shit move along, to me its a little slow because they are jumping all around from faction to faction. I just thought that thats the way the books were written. Its all good, next show should be the battle with Joffery and hope the little shit takes sword up the ass.
LMAO, I guess I didn't word what I wanted to say right. The TV show is flying along compared to the books. The books are not very fast paced. Hell, I'm not even sure I liked them. But I do love the TV show and they're following the books pretty closely.

nah, the water flowing over the walls of winterfell is an allusion to the ironborn. the dragons don't start to really grow and get interesting until next season when they get big enough to start eating livestock...and shepherds:)
the sea battle portion was awesome, that green nuclear fireball was cool as hell. but yeah, the battle in front of the gates felt kinda underwhelming - but they're trying to do the show on a budget and the big battle scenes aren't the focus on the show so i'll cut them some slack on it. they did a good job of making the hound seem humanly flawed for a change, made joffrey look like more of the big-mouthed cowardly lil prick that he is, and made tyrion look even more badass - even getting his face cut in half. i wish he'd have been tossing pots of widfire over the wall onto stannis' troops.
it was awesome when sansa made joffrey look like a deuche, we were rolling at that. only one frickin episode left, dammit.
They went easy on Tyrion, I believe in the book he gets his entire nose chopped off. They have definitely strayed a bit away from the books in some areas but overall the show is still very good. I kinda expected more from season 2 but i'll wait until after next weeks episode to comment.
I didn't understand what the fuck happened with Tyrion? Wasn't that guy who swung at him a Kingsguard? So it was on purpose?
Yes, It was on purpose.
BTW, BEST EPISODE YET! God damn this episode had it all. Boobs, Check. Naval Warfare, Check. Wildfire, Check. Big ass battle, Check. A fucking spear going through someones face, Check. It was just 1 hour of pure win.
The "king Slayer" said that only three people in the kingdom could stand up to him in a clean fight? Who?
Ser Loras Tyrell?
The Hound and his Brother and Perhaps Barriston Selmy. That would be my guess at least. I dont think Its Loras Tyrell, Jaime doesnt respect him enough for him to be in that group.

They probably had to do it this way for TV, otherwise Dinklage would have to spend hours in make-up everyday, and that would get expensive and probably tiresome.

Maybe Ser Mandon Moore. He's the one who sliced Tyrion up before being killed. Jaime considered him the most dangerous man on the Kingsguard after himself, because his face never gave anything away. Of course Jaime doesn't have any idea that Podrick Payne put a spear through his face. But that's beside the point.
Just found this on Entertainment Weekly's website:
Season 3 Characters to be cast:
– Mance Rayder: We’ve heard about him all season. A former member of the Night’s Watch who became the “King Beyond the Wall,” the leader of the Wildlings.
– Daario Naharis: A confident and seductive warrior.
– Jojen Reed; Meera Reed: A teenage brother and sister duo with special insights.
– Edmure Tully: A brash young member of the Tully family.
– Ser Brynden Tully (The Blackfish): Catelyn Stark’s uncle.
– Lady Selyse Florent: Stannis Baratheon’s wife.
– Shireen: Stannis’ daughter.
– Olenna Redwyne (The Queen of Thorns): Margaery Tyrell’s sharp-witted grandmother.
– Beric Dondarrion: A skilled knight who is the leader of the outlaw group Brotherhood Without Banners.
– Thoros of Myr: A red priest who follows the same religion as Melisandre.
i think matt is right, it's the hound, the mountain and selmy. loras and moore are in the next tier down from the top-of-the-line badazzes. if you open the fight up to include other weapons than the sword, then bron and oberyn martell get added to the baddest mo-fo's list.
Very predictable episode.
Wow nice choice for Ygritte.

only 2 episodes left? WTF
Season 2 has been pretty kick ass so far though.
Isn't it 3? 8,9,10?
I liked how Arya sat down with Lannister and talked about dragons and Targaryans.

Is Jacquen from the brotherhood?
no jaqen is a faceless man assassin
Valar Morghulis
Shit is building up.
Tyrion is just priceless. LOL

So dragon glass kills White Walkers?
yep, dragon glass melts the faces of the white walkers, but so far only sam knows about it - cuz he read it in a book:)
Yep, Dragon glass kills them good. Also, John Snow's uncle left that there for them to find.

Half-man Half-man Half-man Half-man Half-man Half-man Half-man Half-man.
How much I wanted to see Cersei's head on a spike. Damn you.....
Fucking Stannis has got some brass balls.
Over all I think they did poorly portraying this epic battle on the screen. It looked improvised, small, and really just not epic.

The Hound is scared shitless of fire. No explanation needed.
I didn't understand what the fuck happened with Tyrion? Wasn't that guy who swung at him a Kingsguard? So it was on purpose?
Do we get new season in fall or spring? Damn you HBO.... It should at least be 14 or 16 episodes to a season.
Yes, It was on purpose.

Good to see the Reeds and Brynden and Edmure Tully finally showing up in the story. (and Thoros of Myr as well).
