is there an easy way to get those videos from the races to a pc? Can I connect the notebook to the xbox with a cable (which) and what is the format of the videos?
You'll need a capture card of some sort and they come with their own software where you can select the format of the video.
If your notebook has a built in capture device then I guess you can use that and from the capture software provided you can select the format it supports.
Actually there is no real easy way to get videos from forza. There is the painfully slow and aggravating system of capturing 32nd clips within the game then uploading to the forza website. Then you download that 30 second clip... And then like they say rinse and repeat. The only other way to do it is to have a capture device that goes in between your x box in your monitor. at that point you can create video clips in any file format you want it. I and others use items such as the hauppage capture box or there are others. Unfortunately this is not like a pc were you can just capture files on the fly.
Yeah, and if you're running HDMI you will have to give that picture quality up. I was given the "Roxio Game Cap(ture)" but haven't set it up because I don't want to go back to component hook up.
Its a nice compact system I'm just too stubborn to give up the picture quality.
I'm not sure your going to notice a diff Snappy..the xbox only 720 anyhow...but it may depend on your tv...refresh rates may be different on hdmi vs components ( an internal setting type thing) I have done it all 3 ways and don't really notice a diff on mine. Shit , when i DO play, i actually use the analogue cable for game play, and compentent to my hauppage for capture..and HDMI ( all on the same 23 inch asus montior) from my computers graphics card..
I did notice a drop in video quality. I have a 50 inch Panasonic Aquos and run the HDMI to it from the box. Maybe I should set it up and confirm but I noticed an improvement when I went to HDMI so I just figured there would be a drop off.
TBH, making good videos looks time consuming and I decided not to spread myself too thin. I might get into it at some point but for now I'm happy just watching yours. They are vary cool.
thank you for your answers. Hmmmmm. At the moment I will not spent money for some video equipment. May be this decision will save me also time!

I like them too!!! When will we see our EUSL in your Magazin?
True Snappy at that size quality of screen it maybe be noticeable, I'm 3' away from 23" Asus LCD 1080p when working on vids or playing the games , and I can see a diff obviously from when i play on vga and when i rip video on component. But to these old tired eyes eyes i couldn't see a diff between component and hdmi..lol
As for EUSL..not sure..i have the files, but need to work them. Right now I am concentrating on the rFactor ones as the game offers a "better" venue for creating realistic racing, I.e having a flag sysytem , safetycars (pace car) etc so that i have a marketable item.My goal is to "sell" 300 and up /wk worth of advertising space. If i can acheive that, then i can turn to doing these full time and do a balance of say 1 rfactor, 1 forza and 1 (soon) Quick Lap segement (which is a show i want to produce weekly wih the happenings around inline racing from all formats) Til then , I'll just keep grinding away..lol
Okay, so I set everything up and the picture quality did go down. But, the good news is I am now set up to create videos from the Xbox. Here is the 2nd one I have made. It is uneditted and has the game sounds with NO in-game music. I am fighting through some AI traffic at Le Mans. It is cockpit view which is how I drove the race. Very annoying but somehow still fun. Thanks for watching. :-)
It probably is, its just that Component is analog, and HDMI is digital. I noticed the same difference in image quality when I upgraded from Component to HDMI.
Good question. The whole thing is new to me so it's probably just that I didn't select 720p. I'll make another one later tonight or tomorrow and post it up.
