What do you do when bordem strikes?
Not just any kind of bordem, I'm talking about when you are bored of games. It seems that this happens to me about once every three years or so. It just seems not a single game at this moment I can get excited about. I blame myself quite a bit but also the producer and developers for so very few unique/ new ip's. I usually take a month or 2 break and comeback. I have a few great friends on live it's hard to not talk to them atleast once a day or so.
So when you get tired of the same old same what do you do? I have often thought about trying new genres and seeing if that grabs my attention again as a way to stay connected. I want to hear your ideas or remedies.
One word, Minecraft.
Two words: motherfuckin' Minecraft.
I have such little time to play, that when I do get online, I'm just happy to have my XBOX turned on.
I haven't really played a game in a ouple months probably. Decided to get back into music, music theory, and all this cool gear my daughter is starting to use.
It's summer time. I am out on my motorcycle.
Those two actually work well together.
Hobby RC has kept me sane.
Learning to drive, breaking, and then fixing.
I like football, porno and books about war. Although, sometimes I like to have fun at someone else's expense...
Would you care to tell the class what you plan to do when you get a 1967 Pink Cadillac Eldorado?
Heck, I don't know... Maybe grab some wiskey, some friends and go on a road trip somewheres. Texas sounds good.
For me it really depends on what is causing my boredom of games. Sometimes its playing the same game over and over. Sometimes its the difficulty or lack of in a game.
Sometimes playing a totally different genre of game will revitalize you. Sometimes it just takes time away. Just have something to fall back on. Gaming will always be there.
when i get bored of one type of gaming ill usually start playing another for awhile, at the moment im hating on retail games with a passion so im mostly sticking with arcade games. sometimes when i get annoyed with video gaming in general ill pull out my chess and go board (i play these two games mostly on my laptop now) and bug people till they play me or ill pull out twilight imperium and or d&d and try to get a game/campaign together. i dont have the time or desire to just sit around playing games all the time anymore, so i split the time from doing all the above with meditation, fishing and trying to make musical instruments out of gourds.
i read about three books a week and game at night. gaming breaks up my mental focus and i tend to stick to mindless shooters like left4dead and cod zombies.
I rarely get bored, but when I do . I correct other peoples spelling. BOREDOM, BTW I clicked on it thinking of No County for Old Men actor Javier Bardem
That must be a tough county ...
(Those that live in glass houses, and all that)
HA!
well played sir.
No, first I knew of that, you mentioned it...

I head to my small but lavishly equiped recording studio and indulge in some semi melodic songwriting.
We must hear this music Knight!
Here... Just some rough ideas.
Will have a look at these after the Clio Cup
