Shadders fully refreshed

Hi all, back from holidays fully refreshed and all RL shit sorted, was so looking forward to racing with you all when I returned last friday, but things have conspired against me, the person that was coming in and looking after our pets had been using the xbox and for some reason had deleted my profile, had to re download it, after some seriour cursing. so then I downloaded the porshe pack and was raring to go and come and find some of you good fellows to thrash them around, logged onto xbl, 5 mins later disconnected, rebooted router and tried again, same result, damn it, the bloody router keeps disconnecting every 2 to 5 mins, have tried everything and come to the conclusion that its knackered, a bit like me, so waiting for new one before I can join you guys, was hoping to get it sorted today in time for EUSL but its not going to happen, will probably be mid week before I'm on again, hopefully see you all on Wed track night, so I'm off to do my Porshe acheivements and get used to some of the cars, catch you laters, Shadders

I assume you've called your ISP to see if they are having troubles?

Also maybe worth leaveing the router off for about an hour, it should reset your connection to the exchange and allocate you a new port.

Welcome back! :)

No probs with ISP, have left router off over night, reset to default and set it up again, it just keeps switching itself off every few minutes, it is truly kaput, its on just long enough for me to post this, getting a new one Wednesday so will hopefully be back on and racing, I've got some serious catch up to do me thinks.

As for my profile being deleted, the guy who was looking after our pets said he knew nothing about it, but after further probing  admitted he had been using xbox and had created his own profile, cheeky sod, it turns out that before we came home he went to delete the profile he had set up and deleted mine by mistake, luckily it was just a case of recovering my profile, nothing seems to be lost have all car packs liveries etc, needless to say he wont be pet sitting again, and xbox will be locked away whoever does the job.

Hello,

hmmmm, that issue brings me to an question: Is there a possibility to make a back up from a xbox? Just for the case, that my son or my wife want to delete my new favorurite hobby :-)))

For Forza I don't think there's any guaranteed mechanism - closest is the cloud profile but some folks have been reporting issues with that capability.

Other option is to use a USB flash key to hold your profile and always remove it from the Xbox when you are done.

Either way I think if your actual profile gets corrupted, you'll always be able to get your DLC related stuff back by re-downloading from the marketplace but, depending on how bad things were, could lose one or more of unicorns, paints, tunes, garage contents, XP and credits.  Gifting tunes and paints to a trusted friend could help for recovery purposes.

If loss occurs. we have to remember it's only a game and it sucks to lose stuff but you just have to knuckle down and re-earn everything. smileysmiley
