My solution to Insanity
My solution to Insanity
I finally finished my Insansity run on ME3 today. I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I discoverd the secret to getting past Mr. Shields and the Three Stooges of Doom at the beam. Don't read if you enjoy frustration.
After dying numerous times at the hands of either the husks or Marauder Shields before I could get into the beam, I yelled in frustration. I noticed that the kinect mic icon appeared when I yelled, so the next time as the husks ran at me I yelled, "Lift grenade!" and wouldn't you know it, Shep tossed a grenade and bye-bye husks. Then when Mr. Shields jumped out, I yelled, "Overload" which took care of his shields and then "Lift grenade" to send him flying off into the distance. Then Shep sauntered on into the beam. So simple I almost slapped myself for not trying it sooner.
Who knew, eh?
Congrats! That is still on my gaming bucket list.
Good to see you on 2o2p!
Good tip, I don't know if I even tried using powers against Marauder Shields. He killed me more than any other enemy on Insanity mode.
Insanity in ME3 is really a lot of fun. It was challenging, but not frustrating (unlike ME2). Simosaurus' tip really surprised me too because that WAS the one part of my insanity run that drove me nuts.
good tip to bad I don't have a Kinect LOL but I know I'm going to give Insane run a try and see if I rage quit or not lol
I'm replaying ME1 now on normal, then going for a Hard run and depending on how that goes, I may go for an Insanity run in ME1. I hear it's doable if you speed run and use a soldier for the adrenaline rush. That's the plan anyway. I'm sure I'll get distracted. I always get distracted.
I did the whole series on Insanity with my main character as an Infiltrator. Never felt like I needed to do a speed run or anything like that. In fact it is mainly patience that was called for. I thought it was an excellent way to play and brought out tons of tactical depth to the gameplay. As I've gone to lower difficulties to chase achievements, I'm constantly surprised at how the game tends to more of a repetitive slog.
Don't give up! Playing ME3 on Insanity was a lot of fun for me. I had a few frustrating parts that took some creativity to beat, but it was a good feeling to beat the game on that setting. Like I said earlier, I did not have trouble at the end of Mars, so I'm not sure what is up. You may need to go back to a previous save and equip a different weapon.
That's pretty much exactly what I was going to say...
Not sure on that one. A couple shots with the default pistol always took her down for me. Never had a problem there.
It must have been some sort of a glitch with the new Bloodpack Pistol I was using. I went back 40 mins to a previous save (now I save every 10 mins, doh!) and equipped an Arc pistol. 6 shots and she was toast. Ironically, her health was only about half gone as opposed to the sliver of health she was left with when I headshotted her before. Weird.
I was starting to worry that if I cant even get past this, how am I gonna handle all those Banshees, Brutes, etc. lol!
Thanks for all the help and encouragement!
