MP Reinforcement Pack Changes
MP Reinforcement Pack Changes
So Bioware decided to make changes to the pack system:
Mass Effect 3’s Multiplayer has been an interesting journey
for BioWare. Over the last few months, we’ve been watching player behavior,
talking to our players on the forums and in the game lobbies, and playing the
hell out of the game at home. Based on all of that, we’ve been trying to make
adjustments to the game within our post-ship limitations, our capacity for
development and testing, and our ability to patch or update.
We want you to know that we’ve been listening. We’ve heard
your feedback about character unlocks and training in the Reinforcement Packs,
and we’re poised to make some great changes in these areas. Specifically, we
want you to get new content faster and have a satisfying replacement drop once
you have all of the new kits. To this end, we’ve removed
Character kit cards as rare drops after all appearance options have been
unlocked and we’ll be introducing a new powerful Rare Ammo type that will drop
when you’ve maxed out your kits.
We hope you enjoy these changes, and we look forward to
seeing you in game!
What is unclear to me is this: When I get my Krogan Sentinel maxed out does he get replaced with a Ammo type in the random generator or do I only get the Ammo type when ALL of the Character cards are maxed out? Another way of saying it is, is it possible to get the new ammo when I have not maxed out all of the characters? I would really hate to get a PSP and only get this new ammo, that would suck!
Any change in the random drop system has got to be a positive thing.
SOunds to me like you'll only get the rare ammo type if you've maxed out all your character cosmetic options.
Agree with Tank, but it sounds to me like yyou wouldn't get your maxed Krogan anymore, but you'd get some non-maxed character instead
The rumors I've been reading suggest that the rare ammo type replaces a maxed character card, and that this works even for silver. So, I won't be getting the Turian Sentinel anymore, but if I WOULD have drawn a Turian Sentinel in the old system, I'll get a silver ammo pack instead.
That pretty much confirms what I suspected. I did a little bit of poking around at peoples manifests and I found some instances of people with lvl 4 ammo but without having all the other gold stuff maxed out. So I guess it is better to get a consumable rather than a character card that I did not need, but it is not really the game changer that folks make it out to be. I do not think it will make it any easier to collect all the cards needed to complete a set. Now, if they changed the rates so that the Gold Gear/Weapons dropped with a higher frequency than the new ammo, that would be worth celebrating.
