Check your collection.........we received gifts
I found this in my collection after this weeks downtime;
a fire and lightning all foil 60 card deck
a sliver 60 card all foil deck
a shards of alara all foil booster pack
Besides the fact that i don't like foils
......isn't this a nice gift ?
I got 3 full decks,( Slivers, Fire & Lightning, and Graveborn) and a Shards of Alara booster.
I was worried about opening them because of the other "gift" they gave us awhile back. The gold-bordered deck that you can neither use, trade or get rid of. I was lucky enough to be warned off and not open it.
I also prefer to not have foils - They're hard to see & spread out my collection from the regular ones. I remember a clannie named Dapluma that was going for an all foil collection. He had a huge collection and was almost there.
Anyway, these look legit in that they're usable. Very cool. I'll open them tonight.
Well, I just opened my booster, Didn't get anything I didn't already own, just now, I own foil versions...
Opened the sliver deck.......Got 2 Muscle Slivers!!!! Score!, cuz those are ones I didn't care to pay the price for. Also got a Sliver Overlord and a Coat of Arms which I've never owned before.
Fire & Lightning Deck.....Nothing impressed me here except I got a Figure of Destiny. Very nice, but was even better in the days before level-up crits.
Graveborn deck...There are some high mana cost rares in here, I guess Avatar of Woe is the best. But there are others I could think of something to do with.
All in all, not bad for freebies!
I saw those last week when I logged in, but didn't open them due to the ones that came out a while back that were unusable. Has anyone actually used these in a different deck to see that they are now 'normal' cards we can play/trade, etc?

yeah the new ones in the decks we received are classic worthy or if they come back in std are playable there aswell im sure wizards had many complaints on the non playable tradable cards
Didn;t get the graveborn deck.
It seems it depends on the age of your account or so.
But if everybody got at least a sliver and/or burn deck we could use them for a tourney.
A while back we talked about everyone using the same deck and this would be perfect for it.
Nobody has to build a deck or buy cards

It was becase I had 4 very old accounts and xfered all the cards! Forgot about it in all the excitement!
I went and bought a fire and lightning deck for 4 tics not bad seeing i didnt get a free one.
Yeah, these Premium Deck Series decks are great. I wanted a playset of Figure of Destinies so was able to buy 3 of the "Fire and Lightning" decks for $3 each from a bot. The crazy thing is, the FoD alone from that deck is selling for $4 each. So I paid $9 for 3 FoD's (worth $12) and another 177 foil cards I can sell at a later date when the market isn't flooded with them. Pretty good deal if you ask me...get them while you can
