Take off all your armor and weapons and talk to a quest giver.
Play with two weapons you like. In ten or fifteen hours, you'll switch to some other set.
Look for armor/upgrades with health regeneration, it cuts down on potion use between fights.
Explore. A lot.
Level up the Detect Hidden to find lorestones.
I haven't played the DLC, but really enjoyed the core game a lot. I am sorry the studio has folded. I tend to doubt the state of Rhode Island is going to put out a sequel in my lifetime.
Question.....how did you level between the skill trees? In between might and so on. Did you pick two weapons in the same tree, other trees? How many skill points can i expect? how many skills (detect hidden, etc) can i expect to level up?
Kiss your life away. I am 61+ hours in and plugging away at side quests after finishing all the "storyline" quests. I still have the main quest to do and a few lorestones.
The skill trees are what you make of it. I went mainly with might, working on the weapons.
Spend points in sagecraft and smithing. The equipment you can make will outclass anything you can find in the game. Chakrams are the best ranged weapon in the game, IMO.
I spent over 90 hours and didn't even see the other side yet and only 3/5 complete of the game and 1 DLC down (Pirate DLC)
If your looking for achievements ... Just put on some gear ... Run as far as you can as you need to beat someone that is a whole lot harder than you are ... Also don't forget to talk to all merchants so make sure you don't forget to buy the back-pack storage additions (5 total) ... Carry as much as you want, but sell often ... Also I agree with smithing and crafting your own stuff as you use can grind down the items you pick up which is what I did ... Cad has a different take on smithing and forging then some of us ...

I am running a brawler malee build.

I didn't smith or craft much because it made the game too easy.
It is an easy game, even on the hardest settings. You can just sit back and cast spells.
For any other late adopters - mid-month, Best Buy will have a coupon in their monthly magazine which will lower the cost of KOA to USD$10.
I am tempted to pick it up for the PS3 and play it through again on the other system.
