Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to breeding animals?
I think that's in 1.8.
I looked through the notes in the wiki, but didn't see it specifically mentioned in any update. Maybe just missed it.
Also, do the updates apply to worlds that already exist, or do you need to generate a new world? If so does that mean you're throwing away all that work on previous worlds?

For this last bugfix, you had to start a new map to get updated clay generation. I don't know if that'll be the same with future updates. I restart/start new maps pretty frequently as it is.
Now, for comparison's sake, on the PC this wasn't the case. How it worked on the PC is, each world was made up of "chunks". A chunk is a, well, chunk of blocks generated randomly that is x by y squares large. Any chunks you haven't forced to be created by the game would be updated. The ones the game has already created would not be updated. Digging into a chunk, going by it, building over it and pretty much causing the game to be generated would do the trick.
4J Studios reports that the 1.7.3 Update for MCX360 is going into Microsoft Cert Test today! It can take up to 10 days for this testing to be completed; once this process is done, the game should update normally.
will we have to buy this DLC? or will they be updating us?

From what I've read its a little of both. The update will be free. Some skins will be free and some will be paid dlc.
Edit: 160 MSP for the WHOLE skin pack. 40+ skins in the pack

I thought the packs were sold in packs of 5 for 160 msp. will find out soon. But there will be atleast one pack free in celebration of the summer of arcade titles.
That is good news.
The one I'm chomping at the bit for is the Adventure update. Been watching youtube vids and there is SOOO much more added to the gameplay.
Yeah, it was practically a new game when 1.8 came out. 1.7 is a helluva upgrade too. That'll tide you over very nicely.

If you look at their twitter page they state they are doing 1.7 then 1.8 then jumping straight to release 1.2.3

Just downloaded the update and no you do not need to start a new world. I have shears and pistons. Don't know how to use the pistons but I have them.
