LOL...far from it. About 10 seconds, I think -- Same amount of time as playing LBP.
The game is fun. I didn't try to create anything, just played a couple of the story levels and created a character and kart. They have a funny "boxing glove" weapon. When you activate that, you start riding a giant boxing glove and "punch" everyone in your way as you race towards the start of the pack. There are also jetpacks that you can pick up to zip forward instead of having boost pads on the track. It's looking promising so far.
Fun so far but this isn't made by Media Molecule which makes me go hmmm.
Feels a little better then Modnation less "slippy", also if you're targeted you can't avoid what's coming by outrunning or outmaneuvering it, if it's a lock on type.

Yeah, but thankfully they give you a shield icon to tell you when to fire your weapon to counter it.
I managed to get into the beta and I must say that I really enjoyed what I played so far. I was worried that it was going to be mod nation racers with sack boy driving.
so sackboy is going head to head with master chief one week before call of duty...and a week after assassins creed 3? i was hoping for a september timeframe for this similar to little big planet vita. sony needs to do everything they can to increase sales not drown an awesome looking game in the middle of the big 3.

I like the drift mechanic and the boost it gives you afterwards.
I'm assuming there are no prizes or stickers given in the beta for levels other then just points ?
Yeah, just points as far as I can tell. The "items won" box at the end of the level is always blank.
So, how does one exactly get into the beta? Is it a PS+ thing? Do I have to pre-purchase something?
I signed up on the beta website a month or so ago. I don't think it's tied to PSN+ at all...at least not initially.

Played a TON of LBP(Hi Char), and LBP2 maybe that helped I dunno. I'm PS+ as well.

I don't remember signing up for it, but I got an invite. I don't think I'm going to download it though, I had practically zero interest in Modnation.
It's good but my interest in cart racing is pretty low. The cart customization is better than modnation in my opinion.

I really don't see this game doing any serious numbers.
