Toyota GT86 at work

Have been dying to try this car for a while. We got it in about two weeks ago and the boss has been bogartin' it ever since. Atleast I was the first to sit in it and drive it about the compound. Hoping to borrow it for a weekend as a birthday present tho!

Just thought I'd share two pictures for now, and I'll update it later with a tiny review of it when I've gotten a go in it!

As it arrived

First sit and drive

That´s a cool car, I like it! I hope other manufacturers start to make something similar too, not just Toyota and Subaru...

I was quite excited about the two variants and followed news and progress but I've read a few slightly less than complimentary first drives of both the Scooby and the T. Feeling was they are tamer than expected. Still, noticed one today at my local Mr T and will try to get some hands on. Wish they'd pull their fingers out and decide to manufacture a mk4 mr2! Oh and Mr T, if your listening, smallish engine, big turbo charger, I'd say around 240 horses, keep the weight down, ragtop - oh and I don't need a boot. 0-60 needs to come up very low 6's please. Come on, you know it makes sense. ;) Edit: mind you, top gear mag rates both highly. 0-60 in 7.6 though. Needs better than that, especially from 200bhp.

The boss has still got the car, the lucky sod!

I agree with the engine, it has too low amount of horsepower.. They should release a turbocharged version around the 280bhp mark. Then you can easily get 350-400bhp out of it and it'll be an absolute monster!

Since it´s made in japan and has all the features that actual sports car needs, (RWD, "powerful" engine up front, good looking body, light weight...) I bet there will be huge amount of after market parts for this car!!

the aftermarket is already kicking in high gear for this platform... turbo kits are already in the works, mated with a turbo back exhaust I bet 300whp is an easy goal. 300whp and the low curb weight would make this an amazing car.
