Trade amongst Clannies - A value proposition

Hi Guys

I've been back on MTGO now for a few months, enjoying the experience once again.  Sorry I'm not more vocal or active, but I'm just not into Multiplayer and I typically only play Standard, which makes me sort of an outcast here.

I have a young active family so I almost never can make it out for the clan tourneys on Sunday, but I am glad that its still going on and maybe in the near future!

And speaking of the near future, new client around the corner, so MTGO should be offering leagues and the like hopefully soon!!!!!  I've only been waiting for YEARS.

Anyway, a bit of a babble, so now I'm on topic.  Trades amongst clannies.

One of the benefits of a clan is the trust and respect you build with those within your clan.  We have had a great clan for a long time (THANKS PENNY!).  One idea that I would like to throw out is a clan trading concept.  Please post your interst and comments.

One of the barriers to trading on MTGO is that you worry about a trade being fair.  No one wants to overpay or inversely rip someone off, especially a fellow clannie.  The essence of my idea is this, we determine a value for cards based on an existing websites card value.  Ideally one that we all use, such as MTGOTRADERS.  (I'm not picky).

When you establish an agreed upon site, you then set up the framework for fair trades.  It may take a little longer to make trades as you have to check value and so on, but when trading with clannies you are not rushed like when on BOTS or peole who trade for a living.

So, I'd love to hear your comments and if you are interested in this.

Cheers

Hi seahorse , good to see yousmiley

Perhaps a sticky page can be made where clannies can post the cards (with pricetag) they would like to trade.

I don't have much to trade myself but if they bring back leagues........who knowswink

Mtgo traders is a good source for cardprices i think but there is probably not much difference with the bigger botchains.

I think a sticky is a good idea, as long as we remember to take the cards off the list as we trade them to each other.

I have a few extras of decent cards that I would certainly trade. I think most of us buy what we want so normally don't get a lot of extra cards other than commons from buying packs. I tend to get extras because I forget what I have, and when I think of a card I want if I don't remember I have it in a different version I sometimes buy it again (ie, I have 2 playsets of Groundbreaker now).

I think MTGOTraders is a good source for pricing, and agree that most other large bots are very close in how they value the cards.

Y'all may remember, that we had something like this before.  It was useful, and somewhat successful, but the person holding the account had to be available.  So, it didn't work as well as it could have.  This may be a great idea!  Ever since v3 came into play, I have had more trouble doing things on this site.  Blah.  If only I was a bit more techy!!!!  But, set up the sticky, anyone can do it, and see how it goes.
