Backpacks and Encumberance
What do you think about having a limited amount of space in your backpack in a game?
I know most of you will opt for the I should be able to carry around a Medieval WalMart camp.
But, I like having some consequences when selecting what loot to move forward with.
Thoughts?
I hate managing inventory lol I need an RPG wife to come with me and pack my shit for me.
Managing the suitcase in Res Evil 4 turned into an art form. When I replayed the game, I swore I would live within the means of the smaller pack to put my $ elsewhere, but alas! I bought the bigger suitcase, nonetheless. So, yeah I like packin' heavy unless it negatively affects gameplay. Right now I have so much $ in Skyrim/Dawnguard I leave everything but blacksmith/enchanting potions lay. So, yeah. Where is a legendary dragon???? And when is one going to spawn???????
level 66 and counting & playing Master level gameplay
It depends. If the game uses slots (like KOA) then to me its not that big of a deal. If you are carrying that much around you are a hoarder and need help.
If it's like Fallout 3 where it is weight based, then that is where I find managing it is important. I end up making several trips back and forth to where the loot is to get it all then go through it in my storage. I also find that I may not have the correct equipment to work through where I am at sometimes. But that is what makes it fun :)
I would love for an option to just turn items into gold, or have a pet like Torchlight in some RPG's to make a run to a store sel my shit and bring back some munchies while your at it (LOL) as for Legendary Dragons in Skyrim, I'm hearing you have to be at least level 70 or better??? don't know if that's true or not, because I haven't encountered any so far inthe DawnGuard DLC but I'm only level 51 right now.

The only time encumberance really bothers me is when a quest item eats space and you have to carry it.
Just wish devs would put more auto organize or give option to set parameters for what you pick up when looting. Say I don't want a plain jane weapon? Set it for special status and up would make it much easier.
I'm all for inventory managment and deciding what'sreally worth taking with you. But I don't particlarly care for slot systems where I constantly have to rearange stuff to make everything fit. A simple weight system like in Elder Scrolls/Fallout 3 etc... strikes a nice balance. Though realistically you sill can't really carry all the crap you end up with! lol
I want to be able to carry everything everywhere.
I cant stand trudging back to loot chests everytime I want to access my stuff.
