Game over.  I just don't see EA/BW dumping any real resources into the game now.  They'll write it off as a mistake and keep what they have running to get back the money spent to create the game.

The F2P looks great for casual players.  I'm not sure how many toons they'd be able to create, but even doing 1 to level 50 is a pretty good deal.  Limited warzones would kill me as that's really all I do other than dailies (trolling Ilum for imps).

GW2 will be the final nail in SWToR's coffin.

Well, its great for those of us who want to eventually see all the main plotlines for each class.

They really did make leveling and questing fun in this game.  I have leveled 3 different toons to 50 and enjoyed all the class quests so far.  I actually really enjoyed all the planet quests as well.  That's probably one of the best parts of the game.  The other is PVP and Warzones.

BTW, I just canceled.  August 19 is the last day, I don't know what F2P is going to do and GW2 comes out.  Figure I'll put some time in that for awhile.  Maybe come back to SWTOR later.

LMAO, I was stuck at work.  Resubbed.  But now it's just monthly.  I really do like this game but I'm worried that GW2 is going to nuke it for good.

Honestly I have no interest in GW2. Im getting to a point in my life where I dont want to be playing games all day.. So I kind of doubt I will ever play MMOs like I used to. SWTOR is just something to do when I am bored, you know?

Honestly I think that's why so many people will actually play GW2. No sub, no real "leveling" outside of PvE, no gear grind etc.  I have a feeling Lala is right and most games will have to really rethink their model after GW2 is out.  Sad fact is that I loved SWTOR, but they flat our didn't listen to their customers.  I've never seen an MMO company so detached and behind as Bioware and sadly it has effected them as an entire company.

The good news is, I'll probably check up with them when it goes F2P.  The bad new is, I don't think they will have the funds to release new content to make that free to play worth playing.

I hear you.  MMO's are just games for me to chill in.  Even in warzones.

Haha!  I never did transfer my toon!!  Oh well, I better cancel that sub now. Sad really. It was the most hyped gaming thing ever and in less than a year it's gone f2p. Unreal. I don't understand the gaming biz, and I'm glad I'm not in it.

I don't even think Blizzard's next title will be Subscription based.  I think that form of payment is gone with MMO's.

I agree with you on that, Lala.  Interesting tidbit about WoW - it was originally conceived as a F2P model (without micro-transactions), and only closer to being announced as a project was it decided that a subscription model would be used.  I remember reading that a few years ago in an article with ... Rob Pardo? .... on wowinsider.

I got a 2 month sub at first. I still have 40-something days left. I enjoy the game, I love the universe and it feels more polished than lotro, which was the only other mmo I played after my daughter was born. Before that I played GW and I like the fact you buy the game, and there are not subs. I think that's why I never got into wow. I'll probably jump back into gw2 when it hits. Needed to get a new laptop that would run swtor before I could get it, which was why I was so late to party to begin with. But now, MBP retina works charms and runs the game really nice in parallels.
