Lawyer, I haven't tested the wireless outright, the router (Linksys E4200) claims 450 mbps, most are 300 mbps, and it will be less, but the one I tossed out was a 300 and my kids are very happy with the newer model. As for my wired I did test it, and I might be getting my nomenclature mixed up, but I hit a 36+ download and a consistent upload just over 4.

BTW, I avoided the "smart app" models as there is some uproar over the "cloud" crap Linksys/Cisco is pushing atm...

Disclaimer, it hasn't improved my driving, but it IS easier to race without the flying/submarining/lag spike chaos. And should be less dangerous to the community at large...

Nice, I am getting similar real world speeds here in Oregon.  I am using Comcast Xfinity cable modem for my broadband Internet.

At last some action, Monday I have been assured I will be getting a call from an engineer who will call here sometime soon. Although the problem is not here, at least I will get to talk to someone who has to ensure I get the service they are contractually obligated to supply. So it may still take a while but activity has switched from India to Ireland and that has to be a start towards a final solution. So hopefully Knight will be back on track in time for the EUSL and able to finally finish off the Healey Series and start on the next one, the big one, the one you've all been waiting for, the battle of the drive trains, The Battle of the Beetles!133

So today I got a call from 3, a 3 engineer, an Irish 3 engineer....in Ireland. Indian not customer support can kiss my arse, at last have spoken to someone who can actually do something...he will be round Wednesday and then I will know once and for all how the situation will be dealt with. And I hate this bloody spell check Arse is not a spelling mistake, it's what you sit on, an Ass is a wild donkey.

Nice one Knight. Hope fully he will sort it out before Track Night.

Also if you use the spell check have you changed the dictionary to British English (lol)?

Arse...Nope still claims it's a spelling mistake, tried it before. 54Don't have much hope of a quick fix unless they can get a signal from another cell that has available bandwidth when I need it...I sure can't but maybe an external aerial could.

Now that you mention external arial....how new is your house?

I had an issue with an internet provider that used cell towers to disperse the signal in a newer house.  Some of the newer windows have coatings on them to make them more energy efficient.  Well, the same coatings they use to improve energy efficiency also block cellular type signals.  We were having fits w/ connection speeds, and eventually they set us up with an external antennae.  The signal improved dramatically.  Still nowhere near cable/fiber...but a lot better than what we were dealing with before.

Oh a 100 years old or so, but you see signal is not the problem, I have full signal and zero bandwith after about 8 at night. Be interesing to see how they deal with that.

Sounds like they need to upgrade their signal towers. If that is the case then your local official will need to really get on their arse to get that done.

Ah see, there is that thing called the National Broadband Scheme, a government contract won by 3 to supply broadband to rural areas, part of that contract is a minimum standard of service. Mine is demonstrably below that so they have to sort it, the longer it takes the more it costs them....oh and the less it costs me.

But yes that is exactly what I think, I cannot see another way out of strangled bandwidth unless they can give me some kind of priority at the cell.

Do you have to pay for this Internet service?  If so, can you at least get a partial refund?  It seems like you are not getting what you paid for.

Oh right on that one, not being charged from the day I made my first complaint, and that is letting them off easy as I spent a while investigating every possibilaty for my having problems racing, it was confused for a while by turn tens lobby issues, then MSL having problems. That hid my underlying problems for a while.

Yeah man, though I can usually get up to B class before it gets too bad to race, once we hit A class thats usually it for the night.

Heh yeah...he put in a booster so my perfect connection to the Cell could be even more perfect...but as my no show Wednesday night evidenced, made no bloody difference. The guy like me was dubious that it would work and did say there were more steps that could be taken but his job was done, each stage is more and more expensive for 3 so they start of course with the cheapest...Monday I get the next call and we start all over again...

68  Bummer.  At least they finally seem to be taking some kind of steps towards fixing the issue.
