Thursday Night Spec Racing Ideas.
I would like to bring back the Spec Racing that originally got me into 2O4F, Ideally the series is aimed at beginners and helps bring new people on to the scene.
So here is the proposal
for 2 Months we race 1 type of car
1x 30 minute race each Thursday night (about 21:00 GMT)
Cautions Enabled
Qualifcation Race Possible? - quick 5 lapper?
A Spec built car with only a few adjustable parts, max grip builds.
Any thoughts or comments?
Friday no good for me. Other than that it sounds awesome!
Thats a shame - I didn't want to take tuesdays as that is knights day for racing, probably could use thursday.
Tourni if push comes to shove I will give over that slot to you, though remember mine is 21:00, so if 20:00 is doable for you there is room for both.
I'd rather you still had a spot Knight, the more events on offer the better.
By using cautions and reverse grid, i'm trying to create some thing where the new people can arrive and see how things roll. (church) Mistakes don't get punished and no one looses out if they get it all wrong and take some one with them.
I've got a couple of cars lined up :D

Yeah I use a reverse grid as well, makes for more fun as well. Well unless my interweb problems get sorted my days or rather nights of racing are over anyway...They do have to sort it but if it's going to take a major overhall of the Cell it could take a while, I will know hopefully this week and keep you posted.
I'm sure they'll sort it out for you - perhaps they could traffic shape your game traffic to have a slightly better priority :)
Sounds great but fridays are prob no good for me

I've been considering bringing this back for our side of the pond too. Although I was thinking of a different day because I usually have a jam session on Fridays. Of course, I might be able to make your event since it's earlier for me.
As for the american version, I'm thinking Monday or Wednesday.
The original spec series was brilliant, but things went wayward for a while. It would be good to get it running again :)
The 2 month delay in changing cars should make it a pretty easy series to run.
I think I'm gong to go for a one month cycle for this side of the pond. Folks should still have plenty of time to get their cars ready.
I'm thinking of an open stock build gt3 (the class not the car) series to kick mine off.
