Character changes revealed for patch 1.04
Not sure about other classes but with WD we lost our splinter build with the 1.03 patch and 1.04 patch is gonna nerf the Bear build. They're upping pet survivability, that's about the only way this character sounds like i'tll be viable once 1.04 drops. Curious what other people think of changes to their chosen class

Vision Quest is what made Bears possible. If you had 4 powers on cooldown you'd get a 300% increase in mana regen. Then if you had a few pieces of gear with + mana regen on them, the mana per second you'd regen could get very fast. Bears is one of the most mana heavy spells the WD has so mana regen speed + total mana is very important to this build. With the VQ nerf in 1.04 , you won't be able to really use bears as your primary offensive weapon anymore which in Inferno was pretty much your only option post-1.03.
In 1.04, VQ will only give you 30% mana regen for 5 seconds and that's IF you use one of the qualifying powers every 5 seconds which bears isn't one of them.
I just feel like Blizz wants to tell WD players how they MUST play their character. Which is with a pet army, except up until now pets became almost useless in nightmare and worthless beyond that. It sounds like they've really tuned the pets for inferno now so maybe thats' a viable way of playing, but why can't i play the character the way I want and not keep getting gameplay changes forced on me.
I stopped playing when it started costing me 2/3rds of my gold in repairs every night so i couldn't improve my character anymore. Everyone knows you can't actually find anything decent in the game you have to buy it from the AH. But kiling the gold earnings on honest gamers was really stupid. The WD is already the hardest character in the game to master and they went and nerfed the darts build and now they're nerfing the bears build. There arne't that many viable late game combinations for the WD and blizzard seems deterined to destory the WD.
So really the only solution is to build another character, go demon hunter or wizard but I don't think it's worth the investment in time. Especially when I see what they're doing with Path of Exile, when that hits public beta there's not any reason to even think about playing diablo anymore.
