Project Cars Xbox version FFB & button assignment problems
Project Cars Xbox version FFB & button assignment problems
Ok, got a Thrustmaster TX wheel that worked fine on the PC version. Went and try to play it tonight on Xbox and my FFB would quit working in the middle of races. I tried to reset game and it still nothing. Just off and on....I used the same setup as on my PC maybe it will work itself out.
On another note, when I went into setting to configure my buttons to "look left look right" when I tried to back out it told me "not all buttons have been assigned" Hell I aint got enough buttons on my wheel to assign EVERYTHING...I made sure the important ones were there....but I left the ones like ignition etc unassigned....any suggestions??
EDIT-----
I noticed my wheel would have FFB during menu's but when the race started there was nothing...I noticed in another thread to do a hard reboot to get the day one patch...Did that but going to bed now...Ill try again tomorroo
Same experience here, Kat. FFB was working at the start of the night but by the time we got into that loby it was completely gone.
Whenit came tl the buttom assignment I finally just called up the options and backed out that way.
Graphics weren't what I expected either.
Make sure KERS is assigned and I think rearview. For FFB I read something about when it tells you to turn the wheel and press A you have to turn the wheel and HOLD it turned while pressing A.
I will recalibrate, again. I'm pretty sure I had it right the first time. Kat, what are you using for chat? Do you have a headset plugged to the controler? I couldn't chat last night. No mic. Gotta get that resolved soon.
@Snappy: I think Gizzie has the mic connected to controller when racing with wheel. I´ll try that too when my TX arrives.
Ill look tonight about the KERS and rearview...I dont think I assigned anything to that..and I know when I would assign a major buttton (x,a,b,y) it would take it away from what it was on default...
Snappy, yeah I have my headset plugged into a controler....that in itself has a little finess...you have to make sure controler is on before I turn on my wheel and connect it...at least that is what you had to do with Forza.... And yes the graphics was a little bland....maybe coming from 100FPS on the PC has me spoiled....There might be some tweeking in the visual section, I never got the chance to mess with it...
Just in case you are not aware of this thread at the pcars forum...

I have the TX wheel also. I had read something about holding the wheel at the 90 degree mark when hitting A during the calibrtaion. I did that but I have no idea if that helped or not. I thought the FFB felt very weak at first but I dove into the individual car settings and it was better by the time I logged off last night. I plan on messing with it more tonight.
Darin from Inside Sim Racing stated that each version of the game felt different, he has all 3 versions, PS4 he said felt too strong while the Xbox felt too light and the PC felt pretty good.
I know there are some issues with the game, especially for the controller support on the Xbox, couldn't even drive yesterday using it, but I think this game is catching a lot of people off guard by the amount of customizing for EACH car to make them feel right to the driver. I can say without a doubt this is probably the most I have ever dealt with. Reading some comments at Pcars forum I think a lot of people expect something like Forza.
I hope you all get everything sorted, I think this is going to be a fun title.
So, should I do a "Hard Reset"?
I just unplug it then plug it back in and fire up?
Hard reset just means you "push" the power button on the front of the XB1 and HOLD it until the Xbox shuts off, which should mean holding it for 3-4 seconds or so.
Thanks Nightfall, I was getting nervous that a hard reset involved some nudity...thankfully I just have to digitally
stimulateoperate the xbox.Thanx guys...I recalibrated and HELD the wheel this time and drove for over 2 hours with no issues.....the button thing is still weird...I tried assigning KERS but that didt help...but Ill try the Handbrake next time and see if that helps....Cherry bomb, what buttons do you have assgined,,,KERS also??
These are the mandatory buttons according to a post at pcars forum:
Accelerate,
Brake,
SteerLeft,
SteerRight,
ShiftUp,
ShiftDown,
Handbrake,
Boost,
DrivingView,
RearLook
What is the Boost button?? I cant find it listed or I looked over it....Also about an hour into my game last night my FFB quit during a race...but started working again when I went into another race...this thing is weird.....
So I broke down last night and picked up Pcars on Steam also since some friends race on there also. I immediately noticed that the FFB felt really good right out of the box. I didn't need to do nearly the tweaking I had to do with the xbox.
I think Boost is - KERS
Thanks...that worked
