Trials of Osiris
I'm looking for some brave individuals to run some Trials of Osiris. I'm dissapointed I can't run this alone and just be at the mercy of randoms and it seems like the people that want to play Osiris already have teams.
I'm a mediocre Crucible player, so I'm not expecting to go 9-0, but I would like to give it a shot.
Any takers?
I'm looking for a ToO team to run with, let's do it. Playing this weekend was very discouraging, but I'm taking a long view that over time it will get better.
Communication and strategy are critical especially for mediocre players like myself, and it's hard to develop with ad hoc teams.
After getting crushed last night I started playing Skirmish matches, hadn't done much of it but it seems like good training for ToO.
Sounds good BLAM.
I did run a few games this weekend and got two wins without any of the purchasable "perks", but the people I played with aren't on much and were slightly underleveled for playing against 33s and 34s. I'd like to find some regulars that want to play.
Here's my take, just from reading the chatter.
Wait until the leets get bored with coming first and have had their fill of Lighthouse. The leet wanna-bees will quit just from losing too often.
I figure in a few weeks it'll become more possible for general players to win enough games to get good stuff.
This is probably right, but I think I will get in now and take my lumps, painful as it is, gain experience with a team and be ready for the super-leets to drop off.
It will still be very hard later but I'd rather be further down the learning curve then.
I'm with BLAM. I'd rather play now than later.
Waiting could work, but it could also backfire, as the "casuals" get romped and then don't come back all you'll have left are the leets.
I don't know how Bungie does their matchmaking for Crucible. The games I played of ToO were very one-sided. Most games we got stomped, but then we had one series we won 5-0, go figure. The other series we won was actually a very good match and we pulled out a 5-4 win.
When does ToO come back? Friday?
Won 7 games in a row, only to get smoked the next 3 games. Eff you trials!
That's where the boons come in. Buy the start the passage with a win boon and then win your first game with the 2 for 1 boon and you are already at 3 wins. Just 6 more from there, so technically with boons a 7-0 run turns into 9-0.
Play the crucible match of the day on each of your toons, win or lose you will get passage coins to buy those boons.
I played the trials right as soon as it came out. I had the start with a win boon and the take away a loss boon. So 7 wins (8 dots) and the 3 losses (4 losses) ;)
Yeah, Trials is the best part of Destiny right now, and it isn't even close for me. Everything in the week is trying to pack in Skolas kills and such to get to Friday and do Trials madness.
To whom should I send my "donation" so I can get in a Trial run with you...lol
The little bit of Trials I've played has been fun. Painful, but still fun. I just need to find some people that REALLY want to play.
No donation necessary.
It comes down to whether or not there's room with some of the usual suspects and shit has been done. Man, with all the stuff that they're adding with Taken King, there isn't enough time in the week to do it all.
Bungie has said that matchmaking for ToO will prioritize low latency. Didn't hear anything about trueskill marching but you would assume there is supposed to be some of that. Couldn't tell from the outcome of the matches I was in, they were pretty lopsided for the most part.
Did not know that about the daily. Good way to get coins.
I would say the lag was decidedly improved in ToO compared to regular crucible, but I don't know if that relates to the smaller party size or not. Never spend much time in the 3v3 crucible.
How often do they run the trials?
Any takers for some Trials of Osiris this evening?
Sounds good BLAM. I don't have many coins, so I won't be able to get too many boons. I'll try and get some coins playing the daily match on all 3 of my characters. I figure I'll need all the help I can get.
Went 9-0 in Trials last night! That is, 9 matches with 0 wins.
The closest I got was in a match that was 4-4. Somehow I managed to wipe out their whole team with a Fist of Havoc while I was the only player left. One of them self-revived and shotgunned me.
F*** this, at least for now. Thank goodness Iron Banner is back. I'll try again next week.
I am mainly interested in the Trials for the elemental primaries. However, you can only get those by reaching a perfect 9-0, so a team with communication is a must. I haven't really had the opporutnity to play Trials yet, other than just a few games the first week.
I would really like to give it a go with some people that know how to play and/or communicate.
Elimination went live yesterday and will run for the next week, this is a perfect opportunity to practice for Trials. I played a couple of matchmade games late last night, results were about the same as ToO except my teams won a few rounds.
Put the lotion in the basket!
ToO comes back out tomorrow. I would love to run it. Im open everynight this weekend after 9 pm est to run on Xbone. If anyone is interest please send me a message on xbone for a day and time. GT: Yountdog7
I really like playing Trials but it sucks not have a group to play with regulary. You really need to play with the same people to get good at this.
If anyone is on during the days and wants to run some trials, send an invite. I've been playing a lot more pvp lately (and finally have all the good pvp toys)
Played ToO yesterday (Saturday morning from 9:00am to 11:00). The time was chosen in hopes of getting some noobs for opponents. Insert small laugh here.... Didn't do well, in part because we kept getting paired against he same badass team, and this was our first time to see the Widow's Court map.
