I have a void primary, but no arc nor solar, and I'm thinking those would help step up my PoE game. Any recommendations for how to acquire this tasty gear?
Yeap, raids. I have all the guns from VoG, need to run Crota hard mode for those ones, but might just skip them since I can upgrade my VoG guns (if I ever get any Etheric Light)
Oops. Couldn't remember exactly where I got it. I've only run CE HM to finish a couple of times. Got the Edict and Defiant though, so if you can get thru HM you will get good drops.
I would love for us to perhaps set up a regular weekly time to run the raids. There is still a lot to get from the two raids and now that we can use our Etheric Light to bring them up to current light levels, they are still worth doing for the gear too.

I would be interested, I need Fatebringer!
Ditto that. I have Fatebringer but need virtually every other raid gun. I guess FB is a good one to start with! :-)
Got my first Etheric Light last night and upgraded my Fatebringer. Next is VoC.
You are using your Etheric Light on weapons before upgrading armor? I don't plan on upgrading any weapons until I have a couple of options on running 34 for my Warlock and Titan and I still want to get more of the Raid pieces.
Maxed weapons would be nice, but you get a significant decrease to damage output and survivability if playing content below it's intended level, so that's why I'm using my Light on armor first.
You can get to 34 pretty easily without using etheric light. I'd rather use armor cores (and upgrade exotic gear) to get to 34 and use the EL on the weapons

That's true and it's easy enough getting the level 32 PoE armor, but that stuff is all Strength so your Super and Grenade cooldowns will be terrble. I actually want to be 34 with specs I find useful and have options based on what character or subclass I'm playing.

Yup, that's a big reason why I picked FWC armour with it's Intellect/Disciple settings.
I've just been using my armor cores to hit 34 first so that I can run the higher PoE with less issues then I'll work on upgrading all my VoG and Crota armor. I really wanted to ditch my damn airplane head, but wanted the better guns as well. I just need 1 more armor core to hit 34.
Oversoul Edict is probably the easiest arc primary to get. It drops after the first section of Crota on hard mode, which takes about 5 minutes to do solo. You can find videos on YouTube that show how to get through it on different classes. Hunter is easiest if you max out the camo perks -- just run past all the enemies! The gun seems to drop fairly often, so you probably only need to try a couple times before you get it. (Although as you probably know, you can only try once a week per character.)
Ditto that. I did the second rock jump with my Titan last nght on HM --- first time -- and was able to take down the Ogre with my Hunger of Croata rocket launcher and Icebreaker sniper fairly easy. Tristan and I both got the Oversoul Edict to drop after I got across the bridge. If I get a chance today I will reord a walk thru for both the Titan and Hunter, explaining the tactics, character setup, and weapons (or types of weapons) required.

This is awesome. I will be trying to do this until I can get an arc primary (or Achy wants to carry me...lol).
Hunter walk thru is being rendered now and should be uploaded and ready for viewing in about an hour. Unfortunately I will have to wait until the reset to show the Titan second rock jump on Hard Mode because I can't restart the raid on HM. Thanks Bungie. Until then here is the walk thru for normal mode. Same basic approach for HM. Only real difference is that the Knight may require two to three headshots with the icebreaker (or Black Hammer), and the Ogre will require rocket hits as well as sniper hits to go down.
Hunter hard mode abyss solo just rendered. Note that I am using the Don't Touch Me gauntlets which gives me invisiblity when meleed. I forgot to mention that in the video until the end:
FYI, you actually can reset the raid on hard mode. I did it last night to get my friend an Oversoul Edict (got it first try!). I don't remember how to reset the checkpoint because it was confusing and counterintuitive, but you can find it with a quick Google search. I think you hit X to launch the mission instead of A, and then a screen comes up asking if you are sure you want to reset the raid.
The ogre doesn't need a rocket to kill either. I sat on the rock at the last plate and killed him with I think 2 clips of Patience and Time (great for the camo ability). I've seen people do it with a few clips of Black Hammer as well.
And make sure you do it on hard mode (level 33). The Oversoul Edict doesn't drop on normal.
If you want, I can run you through it. I have a great hunter setup with the Don't Touch Me gauntlets, so it's really easy, especially with the MIDA multi-tool's increased running speed. My GT is Tristan v2
I did give this a try yesterday. If I had a video, it would be of the comic variety. I died to thralls on the way to the jump point. I died to cursed thralls who decided they had nothing better to do than sit right at the stepping stone rock. I got on the the stepping stone rock, only to fail to jump to the larger one any number of times. Some times I could see a thrall's head blocking me at the bottom of the frame. No idea about the rest. Made the jump to the top of the wall twice. Once the knight took a couple shots from me and then hid until I got close enough to charge. And once (once!) I killed the knight, only to get lost on my way to the platform. I assume that I got turned around and accidentally doubled back. The real kicker is that I was just running on normal, not hard, to give me the best possible chance to learn the route. I'm not discouraged (I'm stupid that way), and will give it a go again another time, but...yikes. I appreciate the offter, Tristan, and will definitely add you to my friend list, but I might be beyond help on this one at present.
I will give the Titan HM reset a try later today. From your description, what is missing in the reset is the initial choice of resume (A) or restart (X) being displayed. The reason I used the rocket/sniper/rocket combo with my Hunter was to keep the Ogre from firing on me as he moved from rock to rock. Even with invisibility, as soon as I fire a weapon I lose it. Didn't think to use the Patience and Time since I am such a big fan of the Icebreaker and I don't have to go into my arsenal to equip a weapon (multi tool) with the lightweight perk for the brige dash, but just equip the Icebreaker. When I do the Titan solo I will give the Patience and Time a try. The key is that it will take a maxed weapon or weapons to take the Ogre down.
I haven't tried it with other snipers, but Patience and Time staggers the ogre enough that he doesn't shoot at you. Plus you've got the camo active in case you miss a shot.
Yeah, Hemihuman, I feel your pain. The first day I tried running it solo was an exercise in nerd rage. I kept trying to jump on top of the lamps like another friend of mine does (gives you a few seconds of safety while you crouch for the next camo and figure out which direction the next lamp is). Now I just pause by each lamp for a second or two and just keep moving. If you're around today we can go through it. I'm pretty consistent with it now so it shouldn't take too many tries. Oversoul Edict is a good weapon once it's leveled up, so it's definitely worth getting.
I also feel your pain Hemihuman. It definitely took me a number of tries to get used to avoiding the Thralls on the way to the second lamp, the jump up on the rock, the double jump across and staying alive at the end. As with anything, you will get better with repetition. As for the exploding thralls, there is nothing you can really do about them if they line up in a way that you can't avoid them. Just take gas and start over. I have soloed the Abyss in the past with a full team and there is nothing more embarssing than not making the jump and having to tell my teammates to wipe so I can try again!
Several thiings to remember with this is to run with Defender, have agility maxed, have jump set to extra height, and an equipped weapon with the lightweight perk selected. A fully leveled Mida Multitool is the best choice, although I have done the jump with the Icebreaker as my equipped weapon with the lightweight perk selected.
Now that I know how to restart the mission, (thanks Tristan) I have rerun and recorded my Titan Abyss solo on hard mode. In that video I show 3 different ways to survive at the end:
(1) - Icebreaker and Hunger of Croata against the Ogre.
(2) - Fully leveled and loaded Patience and Time against the Ogre.
(3) - Dropping a bubble as soon as the Ogre starts firing on me and hanging on for dear life! Important thing there is to have the Bastion perk set on the Titan Defender. The bubble lasts longer, and to be honest, this was the easiest approach to pull off at the end.
I just finished rendering the video and will post it below as soon as it uploads to Youtube.
Hemihuman and I ran it this afternoon and he got the Oversoul Edict, first try! It was funny because Patience and Time actually pushed the ogre backwards enough that he fell off the map. I'd never seen that before. Good times. :-)

Happened to me too. I noted that in the video. Hope the video helps anyone else out there who would like to try this.
The Vault of Glass and Crota's End raids are the best places (and just about the only places) you'll find the elemental primaries.
There are still some pieces I'd really like to get, weapons and armor, from both raids.
Yeap, raids. I have all the guns from VoG, need to run Crota hard mode for those ones, but might just skip them since I can upgrade my VoG guns (if I ever get any Etheric Light)
Vault of Glass for Fatebringer (arc) and Vision of Confluence (solar)
I love me some Fatebringer
CE normal could get you the Oversoul Edict, which is a kick ass Arc pulse rifle.
Thanks for the responses. Sounds like Bungie is doing a good job keeping their content relevant. To do better in PoE, I might need to raid more. Nice.
Oversoul Edict only drops in CE on hard mode, along with Abyss Defiant (solar auto rifle), and Fang of Ir Yut (arc scout rifle).

Fang is my #2 scout after VoC, prefer it sometimes even over Fatebringer during arc burn because of the target marking.

Not just because it looks so good, which it does.
