[Project Cars] Endurance racing w/ day/night cycle - race 3 track TBC Sun 13th Sept
Is anybody still around from the 8pm Sunday crew who fancies some racing on Project Cars in the same slot? It seems like ages since I've seen any around let alone raced...
I'm willing to try.
8pm EST?
PC/Console?
Which Console?
Xbox. 8pm in the UK, 2pm Central.
I'm still around, but that's early afternoon over here so I may not make to many races (prime golf time for me).
OldSchool, I'd be interested in getting something going for Sunday night EDT, either p-cars or FM5. There's still A bunch of multiplayer chievos to grab a to max out Forza rewards.
been waiting for something like this for ages, count me in.
I'd say Sunday night would be more likely for me than Sunday afternoon. Seems like life gets in the way or I just flat forget.
I may be cranking up the woodworking hobby shop and trying to put out a few things online for sale and that will most likely eat up some weekend time as well, so afternoons are probably a no go.
Sounds promising chaps!
Yeah, so I was meaning Xbox, 8pm BST UK, old Forza 4 stomping ground.
I'll be on this Sunday (I'll tear myself away from HD World of Tanks!) and we can have some quick races, see who turns out and is online at the time. Then get something proper going again.
Well Antz and I had a fun 45 mins or so chatting and going round some tracks.
The game was stable, no sign of lag and we didn't drop out so I think it would be feasible to run something.
Now we just need some more people...
I didn't see your post in time and last Sunday was no good for me anyway. I should be able to make it this Sunday if you're going to try again.
Yep, going to go again, I don't play PCars as much as I should so gets me back in the groove!
Got four this week :D Thanks to those that turned out, hope you had some fun.
A few more issues with voice chat in game, but gameplay was OK I think.
What with Forza 6 only a month or so away, I'm going to persist with a casual night on a Sunday at 8pm, then review the best platform for some racing after that.
I should be up on xb1 when FM6 comes out. I currently have no plans to purchase pCARS for the Xb1 unless that is a decent turnout for it. My guess is FM6 will be the game of choice but I could be wrong. In any case, will be fun to get to racing you with you folks again.
Another good session with Juan and Thane. Used party for voice and the sound was good and the lobby didn't crash.
By all accounts, Patch 3.0 should bring lots of multiplayer stability and features... so here's hoping.
We discussed running a time compressed Le Mans race (maybe 1.1-5hrs) with a full day/night cycle. There should be at least three of us, but looking for any more volunteers..
I'll amend the title of the thread to match. We could try a shakedown next Sunday and maybe go for the actual one on the weekend after the bank holiday here in the UK??
I'll propose using GT3 cars but maybe some AI LMP1&2 and GT4 in for the mix
After a bit of practice setting up lobbies, our racing will be a bit different to above.
There are very few options for setting up lobbies which means no multiclass and no max time rather than laps.
So I'm proposing GT3 cars only, with lobby filled up by AI to give a busier track. 20 laps should give about 80 minute race. This should match well with x25 time progression. I'll leave it dry but vary the clouds a bit.
I plan to be there. Will there be any qualifying?
Hey, I dont use the forums much so I will probably forget to check back here but, I am down for any type of racing. I'm not that great, just enjoy traffic and other players rather than AI. Idk where everyone if from but, I'm in New Jersey. If you have room or need some spots filled message me on Xbox. GT: NJ Dubbin
Will keep an eye out for you nj. 15min quali tonight from 8 BST then 1hr race
Well the first attempt at an endurance race went well!
With three turning out (Derek, Juan and Thane), a 15 min qualification gave a good warmup. The 15lap race of Le Man then began at 25x speed to get a full day/night cycle.
Derek took an early lead but some bad lines through corners led to 5s penalties being applied. Thane then took the lead and held it until the round of pitstops. Derek and Juan risked it for one more lap, then pitted running on fumes. During the pitstops, Derek gained a 15s lead over Thane but he was gradually dragged in to finish about 5s ahead.
Overall, it was good, the slow transition to night gave you chance to learn the braking points gradually, some bright sun made some corners tricky but a satisfying to get right.
I'm away next week, but suggested either a rerun at either Le Man again or perhaps one of the other 24hr tracks (Spa, the 'Ring!)
Just need to figure out how to get the AI in there, and get some more drivers involved :)
I think I lost time in the pit stop. I wasn't sure what my default pit stop settings were and was fiddling with the controls to check it and delayed the pit crew. Also, my out lap wasn't too good. Next time I'll make sure my default pit strategy is set before I join.
Had fun, though, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
I ran some time trial laps at Spa. I managed a 2:26 in the Aston Martin and Audi. I think I had 2:29 in the Bentley.
I ran some laps in the BMW Sedan, and got into the 2:24's

I ran some laps in the BMW Sedan and go into the 2:24's.
