I use the MS headset that came with my xbox that is plugged into a gamepad. I have to occasionally bump a stick on the gamepad so that it doesn't turn itself off.
Another three man turnout last night for an hour round Spa. However this time there was the added complexity of AI to contend with....
They gave Gizzie a hard time, so he retired for an evening of cribbage, which left Juan and Derek fighting it out for the lead. A delayed pitstop left Juan with it all to do, and despite a valiant effort Derek snuck the win :)
Another fun race, AI was an experiment and based on the etiquette seen tonight, the last time we'll use them!
I'm not getting Forza 6 until the 15th so will be running another race next week. Shout up for your choice of track. I think the ring might be pretty tricky!
I should be there next weekend. The ring would be OK with me but I'm down with any track. It would be nice if we could decide soon so we can practice during the week.
Round three of the endurance racing took us to Sakitto. 15mins of qualifying saw Derek and Juan on the front row with Thane midpack.
A lightening start from Juan saw him leapfrog Derek into the first corner, but a mistake through the curves, saw Derek retake the lead. He Built up a 10s lead, losing some time during the night, but Juan was pushing in second place. The hand of God decided Derek needed to lose some time so saw to it at the high speed corner after the bridge.
After the pitstop, Juan had pulled out a 15s lead with Derek in hot pursuit. The practice of night lapping saw the lap times tumble and he caught him with three laps to spare.
Next week we'll be in Catelunya, time TBC but we'll try to stick to the 8pm slot.
So it was round 4 of the endurance series at Catalunya. Qualifying saw Derek and Juan take the front row with a much improved Thane in the midpack. Juan jumped the start and had to take a drive through penalty after lap one dropping him behind the field.
Derek built up a good lead but his race engineers hadn't plugged in his steering wheel and some roadside re-cabling saw him lose 20s of his advantage. Meanwhile Thane was dicing with those pesky AI drivers to battle through them and Juan had forced his way through into second place.
50% race distance saw a flurry of activity in the pits, but Derek's race engineer made a rash call and only filled his car up with 38l, would it be enough. With two laps to go he had to pit for splash and dash, he had built up a 20s lead, but again misfortune struck, his pit crew wouldn't respond to his commands, meaning he came out 7s behind Juan, who went into the lead.
Some solid laps saw him take the chequered flag, with Derek in second and Thane in 7th.
Next round is due around Sun 11th, at Watkins Glen, but we need to match it with the MX5 racing on FM6...
Ill see if I can be around on Sunday - Apologies for not being around so much lately hope to be back on a more regular basis
Right so an hour of spa sounds good this Sunday. I've not yet downloaded the patch but will test out any multiplayer changes
I had to delete my local save and resynch with the cloud after the patch to unlock the driver network and time trials.
What time is this race in EST? I have a family commitment scheduled for 1pm EST. It will last at least an hour plus travel time. Will I make it?
It is 3 PM Eastern. We would love to have you.
I'm afraid I won't be there this Sunday. I, too, have a family commitment.

I will be there. Don't have a mic as I am using the TX wheel. Any recommendations for a work around or decent affordable headset?

you just leave the controller plugged in with the charging cable and it wont turn off

No worries Snappy, what is your GT so I can add you next week, provided it rains ;) I reckon either Sakitto full (Suzuka) or Catelunya would be fun

Right, I'm not going to race this, this evening, just got back off hols and need time to sort stuff and prepare for MX5 race!
We'll have to decide on a new time and palce for it.
