2o2p Member just diving in to Destiny

Morning all. While I had some downtime waiting for COD to get their servers together this weekend, I loaded a copy of Destiny I've had laying around for almost 8 months. After it loaded, within 2 hrs, I had downloaded the the past 2 dlcs and the new one. Also seemed to get the level 25 boost as well. However, while a long time MMOer, and a COD III player, loved that Destiny had the similar controller layout to COD. Know that Activision is involved. However was not aware how much Bungie killed any LFG, in game chat or any in game help. So bungled my way to 29 as of now, One Strike, though I barely knew what I was doing and a couple of failed story missions. So.... Any help on getting up to speed with the 2o2p gang who doesn't mind carrying an old man Destiny noob to get him up to speed? Hunter character, haven't Crucibled yet. Want to finish story.
