Vault of Glass - Monday, 1 Feb @9 Eastern
I'm looking to finish off my No Time To Explain quest, which requires a Vault of Glass run. Shouldn't be too tough to go back to and maybe we'll have some good ol' nostalgic fun. I wouldn't mind running it on Hard (which I've never done before) if we think that's pretty do-able with our current light levels. I also wouldn't mind running it with some of the newer folks around here that never had the chance to run it. It really is one of the best parts of the game.
I'm thinking Wed, 27 Jan or Mon, 25 Jan at 9 eastern? Who's in?
I can help. Run VOG on normal and it can be completed in under an hour. There are 2 more steps after VOG. The first is to find a chest on one of the crucible maps will being blinded -- there are spots where one can be cleansed. The second is a quest where you have to kill enough Taken to anger the gatekeeper or whatever he's called. Once he is 100% angry he will appear and you can dps him, assuming you can survive all the damn adds. Definitely need a full fireteam for that. I can help with that as well.
I could do Tuesday or Wednesday, but Monday is my son's birthday, so I should probably spend a little time with him ...
I have never done it and would be interested
Lets go with Wed night then, 9pm Eastern.
The list so far:
1. Hammerdrake 2. OldNAchy 3. Zikan 4. DoctorDoom71 (you'll love it!)
Me. Me.
Oh man I can't be home Wednesday until 10pm, sorry
I'll help out. I love the VoG. Couldn't tell you how many times I've ran it.
No problem here for 2/1.
I can do 2/1
Monday night, 1 Feb, 9pm Eastern.

How many of us going have experience with VoG? I have no problem explaining everything as we go.
Been thru it a number of times, but weak on relic wielding.
First time for me and fair warning as I learned during the King's Fall Raid last Friday I suck at jumping puzzles
The VOG puzzle is much easier.
I'm pretty comfortable with the raid, but its been a while. How much easier is it now at light 300+? I'd like to try it on hard to start if possible.
We can run on hard with no issues. Back in the HoW day group I was with would run it every week with no issues at all. At that point it seemed like we were running it on normal mode. I ran it a few weeks back and after we were down with the oracles holy fucking orbs everywhere. I had the relic and just had to pick them up and blast him. We dropped him like nothing and flew through the whole part. Only issues we had was the maze and jumping part. This was all on normal, running hard mode won't really change much at our level other then not being able to be revived.
FYI, last week 3 old guys opened the Vault door legit. A year ago, 6 of us got our asses kicked, egos bruised and failed.
I'd rather not do hard mode. Is there even anything to gain by going that way now?
I'm just looking for fun and "No Time To Explain".
I have never completed a Hard raid and at some point would like to check that one off the bucket list! I figured VoG might be a bore at 300+ so Hard level may be more enjoyable. If we don't want to do it, that's okay too. If we agree to start on Hard, but it is slowing us down, I have no problem switching to normal. I don't want this to run late into the night.
I personally think hard mode will be fine. There are no crazy modifiers. The benefit of hard mode at this point is just the sparrow and ship. Up to the group. If we have several new people then we will need to do normal mode.
I still think the VOG is my favorite Destiny raid.
Hard mode would be fun to try just for a shot at getting the elusive (for me) Fatebringer and Vex Mythoclast - not that those weapons are good anymore, but just to have.
I'll should be online Monday, but probably not in Destiny. However, you can send me a message if you need me and I'll be happy to join.
No problem guys, I see hard mode has a lot more interest. I'll give up my spot if you have the bodies you need.
Well, it will really depend on the members of the group. VOG is not easy if you are a noob, combined with the no revives in Hard mode, you'll be in for a challenge if it's your first time.
I would suggest Normal mode if you have a bunch of new peeps.
I'm fine with normal or hard. I, too, am looking to pick up a "No Time To Explain"
uh oh I missed this... post about the ghosts and daily mission...
Well, it would have been nice for you to have that completed, but it won't impact our Vault run, you can still participate. It just means you'll have to run the VOG again at some later date if you want to earn the No Time to Explain exotic weapon.
I can help if you need another. Can run the relic or do anything else that's needed on either normal or hard.
My preferences... Use a machine gun for the end fight with Atheon. Super Good Advice works great against Atheon and Oracles due to ammo return. Black Spindle should work against Atheon. Ice Breaker/regular sniper/scout rifle for Oracles/Hobs at the Templar fight. A fast tracking rocket for the Templar. Containment.....
Warlocks can self res in hard mode.
Sleeper Simulant is also quite effective against Atheon. The group I was with had two unleveled Sleepers and with those and everyone else shooting, we melted Atheon in one damage phase (there were no Spindles at that time).
I'd love to see what kind of damage a Spindle would do to Atheon.
Reminder, we're on for tonight, normal mode VOG, at 9 eastern:
