Went in solo and claimed the prize with two randoms. I have no idea what they got out of it. I eliminated the Void and Arc Wardens so fast only one possibility remained. When the randoms didn't desert me, I felt they must have been going Solar too. Either that or they weren't as prickish as me.
I think what happened is I had picked the quest up on my Warlock but abounded it. I have been using my Titan for the other 2 swords though. Not sure if that's glitching it or not. I also only have 1 quest on my Titan so I know it wasn't a full issue.

I had this trouble with my crimson double quest. I declined it and then couldn't find it when I decided to go for the ghost. Then last night, heading into IB, I went to grab all the old crucible quests. Guess what popped up eventually? The crimson double quest! Maybe try picking up some of the stored quests and see if your sword quest pops up. For me, I think it popped back in once my stored quests got to one page worth.

I'll look into this, I believe I only have like 1 or 2 quest I've abandoned on my Titan.
Still no sword quest. On another note, we destroyed in IB last night. Went on a 11-win streak before we lost to some red bars. Was still a close match and a lot of fun last night.
Yeah close games are a lot more fun. We had 1 match last night where we thought Shaxx was going to call it, but he made the other team suffer our wrath!
Finished off Rank 5 on my main account. Slightly meh results. 314 Fusion (fused into Spindle), 319 boots, and 310 Chest (the meh part). Now just have to finish off wifes account and collect bounties for the next IB grind.

I posted that "9.5 K/D link" in my old clan forum and the only response was "The new Halo is great! It’s very fun and well-done " before a "nice job Achy." No wonder I don't feel like I belong there anymore. Definitely not for purposes of Destiny.
Yes, once again I too had fun. I like these limited time events.
But, the rewards. They mostly sucked in light level. We are at the dead end of this latest content drop and the new light levels will be coming out soon. Why the heck isn't Bungie letting us get to max light level more easily now? Some of us need the higher light levels to enjoy existing content to it's fullest.

I think, in all honesty, Bungie is still confused about how to handle Destiny. Grinding for loot is basically a waste of time - at least it has been so far. When Bungie increases the level cap, the players simply blow past the old cap in one day and then are left grinding those last few Light levels again and again.
When I initially learned about Destiny, I hoped it would be like a FPS Diablo. Give us weapons, armor and classes that really matter and offer up many variations on ways to play end-game content. Allow us to really build characters. Instead, we have people playing with basically the same weapons and wearing the same armor.
I've abandoned the grind in-lieu of playing in bits and pieces. If I had faith all the TTK stuff I've farmed would be worth anything come the next Light increase, I'd have a reason to grind. If Bungie keeps up this current system of making us replace old stuff with new stuff - that gets old and is just lazy on Bungie's part.
Instead of continuously inching up the Light, just give us more challenges and gear that can actually impact how our character plays either solo or with a group.
Diablo does this and is doing it well. Constantly coming out with new gear and re-vamping old gear to keep the game fresh. Also allowing players to try new builds and combinations instead of forcing everyone into using the same cookie-cutter builds. Yes, certain builds will end up being the "best", but the ability to experiment and get new gear is what Destiny really needs. Not this appearance of progress by inching up the Light level and giving us a new raid (or whatever content we'll be getting this year).
I like that Bungie gave me more armour and weapon options in TTK but then they gimped my choices by somewhat forcing Raid gear on me. I'd rather just earn attributes as a reward than have to take a potential loss infusing Raid gear into my preferred gear.
To be fair, I have been able to rock the FWC Titan gear through all of TTK, but I've paid for it in lost light levels and lost attributes.
Went back and took a second look. Can see the earlier post reference now. Still, my own membership is getting more meaningless every day. Since the onset of Destiny individuals have formed little cliques up to the point where there are those, including myself who feel like they are on the outside looking in. I personally went thru an almost two year period (mostly coinciding with the onset of Destiny) where I was going thru major health and family issues and looked to the clan for support and relief from the obvious stress. What I got was "hey we'd love you to play with us except when we don't." and "you can't force people to play with you" and "we like to play with our own teams." Some may think I am overstating that but I am not.
I joined the clan because I wanted to play (mostly Halo) with like minded "adult" people to compete and have fun. That is definitely not happening now.
I think part of the clique problem is the nature of Destiny itself. I wish it had customs and allowed for groups of larger than 3 to 6. Halo is still the go-to for the larger casual group dynamic, but even it has shrunk a bit with the 12 person party limit and no lobby chat.
My favorite night is still Tuesday night Halo where 12 can play and chat together without the stress of matchmaking or Destiny raiding.
If we have enough interest, I'll gladly host a raid group. In Year 1 I did every Friday on the PS4.
I liked how in the HOW we could bring up old armor/guns to the current level so that gave us a more diverse population, IMO the way to do this sucked. Had to grind out PoE and could only do a few pieces a week.
Setting up 2 groups would be pretty cool. Goes back to the problems I encountered in the early days. Groups formed and interested players were on the outside looking in. The only difference here is we are talking about a possible expansion to bring more players in vs. the "sorry we're full" attitude of those days. The way Krak set this up is the fairest way to do it but because of the interest one has to be up early in the AM to get into the team for the following week. Only time I ever set the alarm dammit! I wonder how many players don't try because they know the list will be full. Maybe a modification to your thread Krak opening the door for a second fire team or someone starting a second thread each week?
Maybe we need a second thread each week so the "late sleepers" can sign up for the following week.
Bottom line is that at this point in the endgame, raiding is the thing that helps keep a lot of players in the game. IB helps a bit, but the overall drops suck; even level 5 this time was a little disappointing. Three characters for me to level 5 and 2 pieces of useful armor. Bungie definitely needs to up the goodies there.
The irony for me is that even though I am not getting anything to advance light level in NM raid I still have a lot of fun doing it and am more than willing to get more peeps involved to get the experience so that we can get a good core group or groups to move on to HM. Who knows when Bungie is going to actually drop their next expansion.
Glad we were able to drop Oryx for you Friday night Deep.
I am now a proud owner of the Exotic Solar Sword.
Went in solo and claimed the prize with two randoms. I have no idea what they got out of it. I eliminated the Void and Arc Wardens so fast only one possibility remained. When the randoms didn't desert me, I felt they must have been going Solar too. Either that or they weren't as prickish as me.
I still need to do my void sword, Shaxx won't give me the quest. I already have the other 2.
Yeah it's 300 and fully upgraded.
You probably did check.

IB has proven quite exciting at times. We had several very close 'sweaty' games. Many we won. One loss left us at 9995.
It's hard to believe some young people have been pushing Bungie for less sweaty games. Where does this attitude come from?

Nice. I'm just over rank 3 on my Titan and almost 3 on my Warlock.
Those were some bad Timmies!

I've been noticing how well us older people do in Destiny as compared to Halo. I'm not sure what it is. Maybe we avoid the twitch shooting?
You can't really compare the two games in terms of skill needed to be "good". They are both FPS games, but that's about all they have in common.
I posted that "9.5 K/D link" in my old clan forum and the only response was "The new Halo is great! It’s very fun and well-done " before a "nice job Achy." No wonder I don't feel like I belong there anymore. Definitely not for purposes of Destiny.
In all fairness, he was addressing the post before yours asking how people like the new Halo. I don't think it's anything personal.
Plus, just like 2o2p, there are very few people even posting in that forum.
Nice job Achy!
Lots of fun in IB this past week. I was actually able to level all 3 up.

You're an elite player in my book, Achy!
