King's Fall Raid, Fri, Apr 29
Sign up here for the King's Fall raid on Friday, Apr 29 at 9pm Eastern/ 6pm Pacific. No raid experience necessary, but you should be at least 300 light and have a decent, high-impact sniper, like the 1000 Yard Snare for sale at the Vanguard vendor. We usually run for about three hours more or less. If you need to change plans, we understand, but post here again as soon as possible so we can find a replacement. If there are already five participants, please consider signing up as an alternate. Stuff happens, even at the last minute.
In.
In. We may want to consider moving back to normal mode for a couple of weeks. Normal mode provides less in the way of rewards, but based on the frustrations of the last couple of weeks, running normal -- further into the raid -- will provide positives to the fire team.
Agreed. I'm losing my Raid mojo.
I'm informed by some other Destiny players saying that going normal mode, then hard mode, then either Nightfall or Challenge would guarantee higher LL drops. True?
Exotic engrams will decrypt at the same or higher level than the equipped item. Using a 3 of coins in the raid, challenge, court, NF and with several easy to reach bosses may result in an exotic engram. I have no experience going HM to NM in the same week. In fact the best we have done so far in HM is thru the WP with a drop after the totems and one after the WP.
I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'm looking forward to my next try at hard mode Warpriest. But I can wait an extra week to run normal, if that's the consensus. I think running normal at our light would be super fun. We might set a Friday night raid speed record. And if you use 3 of coins at each opportunity, you are likely to get at least one drop that helps your light level.
I'm in!
There are only four of us so far. I'll be online at 9pm as usual. Maybe two more people will turn up. Or we can try the normal raid short handed. Worst case, we can help one another out with whatever needs doing (CoE, nightfall, court, IB) this week.
I'll be grinding Iron Banner on Friday - good loot drops this time!
I understand. I've heard the IB drops were good. Then I heard that a patch went into effect. They didn't nerf the drops, did they?
It was just a matchmaking update.
I should be able to play this week.
Nevermind.
Won't be on at all except to collect IB bounties. I'm hoping to put in some IB time Sunday and Monday.
Duke, miss you bud.
I was going to skip this week but since your short handed I'm in. I'm sure we can find a 6th tonight.
DEEP_NNN, OldnAchy, DatBasementCat, SoulTerror, Evil Claw, and Krak64 ran the normal raid tonight. We were able to run less than two hours, so we only got as far as the Sisters, and very nearly finished them off, before people had to leave. It was a nice change to run normal mode again, after multiple hard runs. Quite fun!
Based on last night's results, normal mode is my limit. I 'really like' the team activity but my failures were compounding the failure rate.
The last few weeks, we've been doing hard mode and working on the beginning of the raid only, which meant little practice on the second half of the raid for those of us who only raid on Fridays. So I think we were a bit rusty. Add to that the fact that some of us (like myself) are still way below the new level cap, and I'm actually pretty optimistic that we can knock off hard mode eventually.
That's why I need higher gears and weapons from the KF raids. I'm getting fewer 320 drops from IB and Challenge events.
I was in an impromptu KF raid last night set up by other clannies and it was a hard mode raid. Got some sweet drops (two 319 Harrowed rockets AND a 320 normal mode level rocket!) We went all the way til the conclusion of the daughters' fight.
One thing I noticed in the fight against hard mode Warpriest fight: two of the players appeared to use high level Sleeper Stimulant weapons to damage Warpriest quicker. Could come in handy the next time for a HM raid for you guys.
