Rocket Glitch in Crucible
Well, it seems there is a new glitch that has been discovered in the Crucible that can basically give a player rockets at the beginning of the match and continue to stack.
The way it works is you take a King's Fall primary or secondary, which all have the "Cocoon" perk, and equip a rocket launcher with the "clown cartridge" perk. Shoot a shot from your raid weapon and then switch to your rocket. When the cocoon perk pops, there is a chance (25%) you'll get a rocket.
You can do this at the start of the match and keep going - never needing to pick up heavy ammo.
Bungie is aware of the problem, so I expect it will be fixed soon, but beware!
I was experimenting with this. It's supposed to work with multiple weapon catagories.
I saw it work once.
Sound like it's time to drag out my old Y1 Radegast's Fury rocket launcher, which has the 'clown cartridge" perk and my Doom of Chelchis scout... :)
DEEP, sounds like Bungie unwittingly brought us a version of "Rockets on Foundation"...
Now that was fun! Loved it when I could super bounce up to the top!!
Holy crap, I forgot about the super bounce!
Iron Banner is on hold and Trials has been cancelled until this bug is fixed.
The glitch is worse and easier than I thought. I used Doom of Chelsis primary and a Blue/Rare rocket launcher. It only takes a few minutes to go from 0 to 1 or 2. In a story mission I raised 17 rockets in ~10 minutes. I only experienced increments of 1.
Adding on to the glitches problem, you do not have to reload the rocket launcher. Just fire until they are gone. I am plan to test going to orbit and its effect on the excess ammo.
This might be a cool/cheating way to beat those stinking brothers or get that exotic sniper.
Update: You lose the extra rockets if you go to orbit.
Actually the sooner they fix this the sooner we can get IB going.
I experimented with the glitch over the weekend on PvE strikes. It works quite well, though it makes you less effective as a team member during the time you're continually switching guns. And, with the clown cartridge perk, you still get an occasional bonus rocket in addition to those made by swapping guns.
I haven't had the courage to use this in the crucible yet.... I can only imagine the hate mail if you were to sneak up on the opposition's heavy ammo drop, and rocket them just as they pick it up.... Or get a rocket kill in the first minute of the game.... If they were DoP users, I'd be OK with it.... :)
Well, I got killed by a rocket during the first minute of a game a few days before this glitch became widely known, and almost sent some hate mail to the perpetrator. Ended up just reporting them for cheating. But I was wondering "how in the eff did he do that?".
Looks like the bug has been fixed. There was another one fixed as well -- unlimited Supers. Didn't know about that one.
Wish I had known about the super glitch. :(
Iron Banner is active. The loot seems ... less
