King's Fall Raid, Fri, July 15
Sign up 'here' for the King's Fall raid on Friday, July 15 at 9pm Eastern/ 6pm Pacific. No raid experience necessary, but you should be at least 300 light and have a decent, high-impact sniper, like the 1000 Yard Stare for sale at the Vanguard vendor. We usually run for about two hours more or less. If you need to change plans, we understand, but post here again as soon as possible so we can find a replacement. If there are already six participants, please consider signing up as an alternate. Stuff happens, even at the last minute.

Bombs away on Oryx!

Alternates: Darth Tabasco (prefers hard mode)
I'll be driving back from my daughter's college orientation, but expect to start on time!
If everyone wants to try HM, I'm certain both of us would be willing. We both still need that for the achievement/MoT.
Always up for hard mode (hmm, maybe should have rephrased that).

Alt for HM
KalSC, SC Fnord Ranger, DatBasementCat, OldnAchy, BLAMnation and myself (Krak64) ran hard mode tonight from BLAM's Golgoroth checkpoint. We got through Golgy and the Sisters handily, but are still getting comfortable at hard Oryx. And you do have to be really comfortable at Oryx, since it takes quite a while, and one death is enough to wreck the team. We plan to try again as often as possible this week. I will be trying to look in at 9pm each night to see if a group wants to make some more tries. And since we all have the checkpoint, there may be opportunities at other times as well. So watch for us online if you are interested!
Hard mode in KF is a bitch. I wasn't sure what the team last night was trying to do - usually a raid team would have to detonate the four black blights in the first round, then run around, then repeat that three more times or detonate all 16 black blights together and kill Shades of Oryx three times. You just have to kill the four Hive swords that pop up after all four ogres killed, otherwise they just go run to and detonate the blights before we would have do so. The important thing in KF HM is to NOT to die! :D
My deaf team is going to run the last part of KF Raid on hard tonight. We've been trying to complete it for the past three days, trying different, workable methods to stay survive and fight. We are going to keep trying until we finish off Oryx on hard for good and check completion for the Moments of Triumph.
As I said, Hard mode in KF is a BITCH!
Yep. HM takes training and understanding the mechanics. We ran for about an hour last night after Croata HM and even though we didn't take him down, it was clear that progress was being made and the attempts were "cleaner." Although there are different approaches, 8 and 8 seems to be doable. As long as all 8 bombs detonate, the artillery phase is avoided (I get dizzy running around in circles.)
Yep, was trying to do eight bombs at a time to avoid the artillery phase. This is a common tactic, and in my experience, it works well....as long as you don't let any of your eight bombs get eaten!
I know I felt I was getting better at dodging the eyes, darts, ship, etc while standing on my plate and getting the knights down. At least I hope I am! I know it still needs work to get us all into sync. I've mentioned it before, If anyone wants to start on Tuesday night (or whenever during the week) and put in an hour or two at a time to plug away at the raid in HM until we get back to Oryx, the husband and I are game.

Definitely a good night. Only one achievement left to do now, flawless.
I think all of the Oryx practice we've had the past few weeks really paid off last night. I think we had two wipes before we had THE run and took out Oryx.
Congrats to those of you that got your first Hard mode Oryx kill.
Hey, we are actually starting to turn into a raid team...lol
Can we forget about one of the wipes? The plate one warlock who normally hovers and won't fall from a jump quickly, suddenly having a bunch of bricks in her pants to drop her down to the plate before the relic runner... yeh lets not count that one :).
Sounds like a plan Hammer. I just posted a thread for another VoG HM run. I'll post something later to try to pull together a flawless try sometime soon.
