* Go in with a fireteam whenver possible. Being able to agree on tactics on the fly is huge.
* I'm a scout rifle guy. But for Salvage I almost always run an auto rifle/pulse rifle and shotty. If you have a good sniper on your team, by all means, leverage that skill.
* Don't rush a relic solo. Muster up your fireteam before you go in.
* Sometimes it's better to let the other team capture the relic, then go wipe them out and disable it.
* Smart teams will spread out after capturing the relic. Supers like Arc Blade and Stormtrance are more effective than area-of-effect attacks like Fist of Havoc or Nova Bomb, but it's good to have a FoH or NovaBomb while the other team is capping the relic.
Having said all this, keep in mind that I kinda suck at PvP. Follow this advice at your own peril. And good luck.
Congrats, DEEP! Now you need to go back in and get the ship
A very fine ship at that!
Was a lot of fun last night DEEP, and you killed plenty of adds. It definitely feels easier with a 3rd man helping with the adds. And there is far less cursing :).
RaDarkman and I did Salvage in 2 nights. The achievements doesn't read correctly as we both knew we got more then 20 deployments.
The way it works is for each deploy, not a full capture. We also found out that if you deploy 3 points per round you will get a medal. 6 of these ='s the achievement. So basically get 6 of the Relic Hunter medals. If you don't get the medal I don't think it counts towards your overall 20.

Alright Achy, we need to grab a third and knock this out soon.
Finally wrapped up my last achievement with Salvage last night. Thanks Soul and Blam for pointers! Thanks to the SCs and Achy/Deep for helping me out Sunday and Monday!
After IB, I hope to have the weapon master quest complete. Another quest is for elimination, so I'd like to give Trials a go to knock that out next week.
Hammerdrake, of course you know you can always just play Elimination when Trials isn't active. Hit me up if you want to run some Trials next week though, I'm always good for an 0-7 Gold Tier bounty run.
I hope they allow private matches with one player, like Halo 5 does. I learn maps very slowly, so I like being able to take a leisurely look around without being shot at.

I believe I read it does and for the very reason you like.

Yes, this was confirmed during the live stream that you can load up the maps alone and check things out. I did this all the time in Halo so I could practice jumps and learn lines of sight, so I'm glad we'll finally be able to do this in Destiny.
The private matches will support up to 12 players.
I get what you are saying DEEP. I've never seen exclusives be kept locked away for so long. Usually games keep stuff exclusive for a few days or weeks or maybe a month, but what Activision is doing is just wrong.
I say Activision, because I'm assuming Bungie's hands are tied with this decision. I'm sure they would prefer we have everything all at once so they don't have to keep hearing us complain about the PS4 exclusives.
Overall though I'm not too bothered by it - we'll have plenty of new toys to playing with soon enough.
I agree that the exclusivity arrangement sucks. Activision should be ashamed of themselves. How many people do they really think are going to get a PS4 versus an Xbox because they can get a different piece of candy a year (or two) sooner?
But...
When the first batch of exclusives finally became available, what did we get? Hawkmoon, Monte Carlo, 4th Horseman, the Undying Mind strike...
*Yawnnnn*
Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo are useful, but not game-changers. I can't find my 4th Horseman - it's buried somewhere in my vault under a year's worth of dust. And many folks have already gotten the dead ghost out of the PS4-exclusive strike area. Jade Rabbit will probably be obsolete by the time we get our hands on it, and like Darth said we will have plenty of other toys to play with.
Is it just me or was the last this last IB a little boring? I didn't start until Thursday, played exactly 13 games, all with randoms, over 5 days and got my primary character to level 5 with one weekly still to cash. I was on the winning team in 10 of those games. It seemed like the competition level has dropped considerably.
It could be that the game itself has become a little stale, which was a concern of mine when the spring update was announced with nothing really exciting to look forward to thru the summer. Thank goodness ROI is only a month away.
I did finally get the salvage achievement to finish all achievements for Destiny.
I hear ya Achy. I didn't grind nearly as much IB this time. Two characters to Rank 5 and one to Rank 3 - usually I'm easily to Rank 5 on all three with two days of farming good rolls on the weapons/armor.
I don't really need anything in terms of higher light, so I was mainly grinding for a good roll on the IB Hand Cannon - which I didn't get. I did however get a very nice roll on a Lord High Fixer and a decent Eyesluna, so I'm happy.
Also, Clash is a little more boring to me. Granted it's easier to play solo, but I just a little less exciting to me.
I still found IB pretty enjoyable, especially playing with folks on full fireteams, and I like Clash. Got a nice roll on a shotgun, and an upgrade to my Titan chestpiece. Which will be more or less obsolete in a month (I just mean I'll replace it with the new IB chest). Oh well...
Seems light level will play a bigger role in RoI raid.
"On the difficulty scale, where does it fit next to existing raids?
We’ll see. It’s hard. It’s largely a function of what your light level is versus the raid. King’s Fall has this property of where even if you’re over-leveling the mechanics don’t get easier so it still maintains this high difficulty, which at the time we felt was a virtue because people specifically wanted it and had been asking for it, and I think maybe now the community might be ready for something a little different that they can actually overlevel and get some mastery over."
I don't know what that means? The difficulty of VoG and Crota relied heavily on Light. Remember when it used to take us 30 minutes just to get into VoG because of those pesky Praetorians?
Now, VoG and Crota are a breeze due to us being so over-leveled, so I'm curious to know what they are offering up that will be different for us to "master".
I believe what is meant is, the Oryx raid relies more on team work to complete the complex raid mechanics than it does on having the highest LL available. I.E. a 335 team member that can't jump will always result in raid failure.
We ran the NF 3 times last night and I got two Loops and one of them has a decent roll.
While, overall, it's not too bad of a NF this week, I will say it's a good thing we no longer get forced back to orbit after a wipe...lol
I've also seen some posts on Reddit about a cheese method on killing the boss that makes that final room much easier. Basically when you drop into the boss room, turn around and jump up on the small ledge just above the ground. Clear the ads and then burn the boss with void snipers. The boss won't shoot at you for a few moments, so if you are quick enough, you'll get an easy kill.
Also, I had to turn in my Voidwalker card for some awful misses with my Nova Bomb. I am so used to Shatter than when I changed to Lance, I had some bad, like not even close, misses.
Congrats to both!! I need 19 salvage points to get my last achievement. Running salvage solo is a pain in the butt for sure!
What works (sorta) for me in Salvage:
* Go in with a fireteam whenver possible. Being able to agree on tactics on the fly is huge.
* I'm a scout rifle guy. But for Salvage I almost always run an auto rifle/pulse rifle and shotty. If you have a good sniper on your team, by all means, leverage that skill.

In case anyone missed it, Iron Banner Clash is next week. Helmets, body armor, hand cannons & shotguns. I really could use a new helmet for the titan.

Private matches confirmed for Crucible.
https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=45079
Saw that. Long overdue! Given the current game types I guess private matches will have a max of 12 players (6x6).
I hope they allow private matches with one player, like Halo 5 does. I learn maps very slowly, so I like being able to take a leisurely look around without being shot at.

TTK PS4 exclusives to remain exclusive until "at least 2017". Last year it was 2016.
That pisses me off considerably.
If you ever again assume a timed exclusive will become reasonably available, you are in for disappointment.
I get what you are saying DEEP. I've never seen exclusives be kept locked away for so long. Usually games keep stuff exclusive for a few days or weeks or maybe a month, but what Activision is doing is just wrong.

I think I'll put something cranky in my Xbox motto.

The current Hawkmoon is nothing compared to the originally PS4 version. I still love my Hawkmoon but it was nasty on the PS4 in Y1.

The RoI expansion can't come soon enough!
Never touched IB this month. Not even when I had time. Too tired to even show online.
Next month should be more invigorating. My house reno will be still underway though.
Undying Mind is the Nightfall this week with Void Burn, Specialist and Juggler. Get out your Telesto and help me farm an Imago Loop! :-)
Ranger and I were talking about this earlier. It may get messy as a lot (most?) of the adds are void burn as well as the boss. But we are game.
I had a couple of imago's but the rolls were the worst. I believe Ranger is still looking for a good one too. Maybe we can get some decent rolls :)
Oh well...
