Wrath of the Machine, Fri, Sep 30
If you're interested in running the Wrath of the Machine raid this Friday, September 30 at 9pm Eastern, post below. First come, first served, but you should be at least closing in on 350 light. We can either start the raid from the beginning, or use the Vosik checkpoint that we got this Tuesday night.
Edits: A couple of additional notes. If you sign up for the raid and find out later that you won't be able to make it, please post again here and let us know so we can find a replacement. Also, I have already learned enough about the raid from my friends here at 2o2p that at this point, I will start actively trying to learn about the raid however I can. I hope that no one will stay away for this reason, but at the same time, I don't want to be spoiling anyone's fun.

Put me down as an alt as of now.

We can have a full fireteam if our alt can make it: Ra Darkman, DEEP_NNN, OldnAchy, Duke12, SoulTerror, myself (Krak64).
I hope we get a chance to kill Vosik and get some loot. As I saw it, our big challenges in that fight on Tuesday (apart from the simple fact that our average light is low) were:
1) The void-shielded Fallen captains. You should think about how you will help kill them quickly when they spawn.
2) Finding an active clean room quickly to survive Siva Crises. We should be in the middle after the boss damage phase ready to move either left or right as a group. I think that if one of us jumps up in the middle, you can quickly see three of the rooms. If none of them are glowing (i.e. active), it must be the fourth.
3) Doing enough damage in the boss damage phase. We only have a limited time to shoot, so don't be shooting your primary at the boss! A good sniper, like your 1000 yard stare (infused up in light) is a good, safe choice. MGs might be ok. Rockets might be ok, as long we don't blow ourselves up with them.
Doorgunner may be an available alt.
The year 3 Gally has really good tracking. I was using this during heroic strikes and other places where I simply jumped up from cover, pointed and fired. I was consistently getting hits. May be a good choice for the priest.
I think the gally may be good on both the giant shanks and priest IF you are careful that no add or teammate can jump into the way of your shot, causing you to blow yourself up.
I will bet dollars to donuts we end up banning the gally's in the second phase of the Vosik fight. There are lots of obstacles, lots of adds, and its not a big space meaning that your teammates may have little choice other than to pass in front of you. Still, it's worth a try. I'm thinking if you jump when you shoot, it might be safe...., um, safer.
That's what I was thinking, jump and fire...as long as someone doesn't drop a bubble in front of you...
If you need a player invite me.
Ra Darkman, DEEP_NNN, OldnAchy, Duke12, SoulTerror, and myself (Krak64) beat on Vosik for a couple of hours tonight. We never got him down, but we learned a lot, and the second hour looked and felt a whole lot better than the first. We went from the Siva Crises killing almost everyone, to being able to save the whole team almost every time. Huge improvement.
I'm not very happy with how I did in the damage phase. After I threw my bomb on the right and ran back to the center to shoot, I just didn't get enough shots off. I'll have to think about what to do better.
I also don't understand the huge range in damage numbers that you get with the bombs. Sometimes they're about 1,000, sometimes about 1,000,000. Why?
Has to be synced throwing. I didn't see the numbers but noticed that when 2 or more bombs hit around the same time the explosion seemed to be much greater -- as if they stack damage. Still don't know if Weapons of Light also helped with the bombs but definitely helped with the damage phase and dropping adds, especially those yellow bar captains. Interesting side note. I saw a clip this morning of a team in this room where the Gally was used, quickly throwing rockets at the priest then a quick switch to sniper. I say this because last night I noticed a primary being fired during damage phase and that won't cause much damage. Possible that special and heavy ammo was drained because we were going thru so many iterations. I expect that that issue will diminish as we get everyone at higher LL and get better at the mechanics.
I definitely used a Primary a few times. Not by first choice. Special and Heavy were not loaded or empty. Given the operating window, I opted for what I had in hand.
I'm finding Devils Dawn with 3 rounds to be very powerful but maybe 4/5 rounds from a 1000 stare would be better against the boss.
Our original method for throwing the bombs synced may well be the answer. The disparate landing positions for the bombs makes syncing a problem though. Bombs on the left can fall almost as far forward as the boss (same for centre and left?).
Planet Destiny show the Fireteam doing a 321 countdown for both bomb pickup and throw.
They were also saying the cleansing rooms were two random rooms.
Our group did well on Saturday and we made it to the final boss, before having to throw in the towel. We also had good luck finding a few of the chests.
You guys are correct in trying to sync the bomb throwing. If you'll notice, Vosik has a kind of red SIVA "overshield" the first bomb takes it out (the one that does 1000 damage) and the other two bombs are the ones that take down his primary shield (100,000 damage). The reason you want to sync the throwing is that his SIVA shield comes back really fast, so you want the other bombs hitting as soon as the SIVA shield is down.
Also, Achy's other suggestion is spot-on. I had the best luck on the damage phase by running a clip of Heavy (Sleeper for me) and then switching to Sniper without reloading Heavy. Once I had gone through a clip of Heavy and a clip of Sniper, then it was time to run for the safe room.
Additionally, make sure you throw the two orbs that drop during the damage phase as those hit for about 100k each.
