I had one really excellent damage round. That time I was ready and waiting for his shield to drop with my weapons of light buff already on and my gally in my hand. Managed two rockets, a reload, and two more rockets before he went invulnerable again. I would like to be doing that each and every damage round.
I have got to get better at dealing with the captains. I've been experimenting with a lot of different weapons (gally, void sword, void fusion, void grenade, void melee, and lots of primary rounds mixed in there), but they're still giving me too much trouble. I've been focused on killing them faster, but they ended up killing me too many times yesterday. I will try for somewhat slower and safer kills next time.
One question: at the end of the damage phase, how many bombs drop? Whose job is it to throw those? I thought at least some of the bombs were getting left on the ground, which seems a waste.
I've tried and succeeded throwing those bombs during damage phase. Very low success rate. I've been choosing to get a full clip of HM, and sniper instead. When they're ready that is.
The extra steps to run from the previous bomb throw all the way back to the bubble, turn and fire are better used by me with more weapon fire. I'll try to use the bubble when I can but it might have to wait until the level becomes less taxing.
When using a void HM or Thunder Lord I can quickly de-shield the captain. That's usually when Duke takes over to finish him off. I think Thunder Lord can do the whole job but I opt to go for the bomb instead most times. The captain evades shotguns and swords which leaves you chasing him around. Not a good thing if you're a bomb thrower.
I'm still waiting for the sound and light cues to become second nature. The decontamination run is still a big cluster fuck for me. On one occasion I called a room (because one wasn't yet seen) the same time as someone else and the fireteam got split. It shouldn't be that way.
At the end of the damage round, I think 3 bombs drop but getting to them and throwing can be problematic if one has to run any distance to get to one. I always tried to throw the center bomb, but if it was close to the War Priest then my failure rate at getting to the safe room definitely rose.
Overall I think we need the game to slow down a little thru repetition which should make everyone a little less hyper. A main symptom of that were the times we all forgot to call out the active Monitor. This also should make it easier for the player assigned to find and call out the safe room to know when to look. Having more than one call out the room does lead to split rooms, but I also noticed that players were running to the "other" safe room on their own as well and as we found out that eliminates one damage round. We all know the mechanics by now, just need to get better at them.
And as we said last week we all need to do some grinding to increase LL. Playing IB this week should really help and anyone below 365 run their favorite "quick" strikes directly selecting the 320 hard mode.
There are two bombs that drop during the damage phase and they generally drop on/around the center platform. You 100% need to assign people to throw those as they deal 100k per bomb.
Also, our group went to having just one person call the safe room. I believe the safe room becomes visible once the bombs drop, so that person can quickly identify the room where the team needs to run. One voice calling the room leads to much less confusion and allows the rest of the team to focus on damage.
Krak, one helpful hint when dealing with the captains is to know when and where they spawn. They come in the wave that accompanies the 3rd bomb drop while you are trying to drop his shield for damage phase. We simply had a warlock on my side Nova bomb the captain and it was cake. This allowed me to keep my tether for the boss. I'm not sure what the other sides were doing, but this worked for us. That might be a consideration, depending on the set-up of your group. All you need is really one Defender titan for a weapons bubble. The other titan could run Striker or Sunbro. Voidwalkers and/or Golden Gun for the burst damage on the captains are good options too.
100k of damage does seem worth it, though I don't honestly know what damage I'm getting with gally round for comparison. Anyone know?
I was trying to call the safe rooms myself. You can see all four rooms by jumping and spinning if you jump from the right spot. One problem I had was jumping a touch too early (before the room was lit) and having to do it again at cost of time. I presume this will get easier as we get more experience with the timing of the various raid events.
We did have two defender titans in the middle. I suppose the bomb thrower could use hammers on the captain before picking up bomb number three. Could only help.
I hope you guys are picking up your weekly Iron Temple quests and bounties before the raid. I did, and was surprised to find this morning that last night's raiding has finished one of Shiro's bounties, and almost ("94% noble deeds performed") earned me a new artifact!

Ah, the ol' reset day mini-grind - visit 3 social spaces and load up bounties and quests, x3. I'm tuckered out before I get to take my first shot.
I'd be more excited about those new artifacts if they came with LL relative to it's new owner. They are repeating now and I only pick them up to shard them for marks.
Do they have the same int/dsc/str rolls as the ones you had before? I'm always looking for int/dsc combinations.
The repeat artifacts can roll with different stats than previous versions, so be sure to check. Plus, we've gotta collect them all for the record book.
Deep.I am so sorry to hear this. You had mentioned last night that he had taken a turn for the worse but had hoped for the best. My heart goes out to you and your family.
You did fine! I'm still pretty ignorant myself regarding this raid. We've faced off with the end boss only once, and not for very long. We've never even reached the second phase of that fight. So lots for all of us still to learn!

On left side we generally hit the captains with a void weapon followed by solar hammer. I recall dying from a captain just once.

Straight to the Siege Engine. Remarkable change in success.

Doing the same thing. If a better roll, I equip it and use the high LL to infuse it. So far this has happened only once.
Out of town Tues Oct 18 and 25. Raid space available those days.
Can't do the raid tomorrow night. Maybe next time.
My Dad passed away today. :(
I expect to be on tonight for the raid but I might seem a little off.
I'm sorry for your loss Deep.
Sad news. I know you did a lot to make sure he was properly cared for.
Wow, DEEP, so sorry for your loss.
My condolences, DEEP
So sorry to hear that Deep.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
I am working on a Eulogy so that is keeping my mind busy for now.
So very sorry Deep.
