Back In The Mythic Game
Those Bungie games are starting to lose their "lustre" and my full time attention so I decided to go back to a favorite past time and attempt to beat Halo 5: Guardians campaign missions on Mythic LASO (Legendary, All Skulls On) difficulty. Just finished with Osiris --
Another mission in the books -- Evacuation on Mythic LASO difficulty --

Blue Team, arguably the hardest campaign mission, especially on the hardest settings (LASO or legendary all skulls on) is done!!

I competed Glassed on Mythic LASO difficulty 2 years ago but decided to redo it with score attack on and better equipment:

Same for Unconfirmed. Redone with score attack activated:

Sweet. I remember watching some of your LASO runs from H3 and Reach and using those as a guide to actually beat the encounters. Certainly some challenges to be had by tackling the toughest content.
I was considering a return to Halo 5 since it's been a while that I fired one of those trusty BRs.
How does H5 on LASO compare to previous games?
Some new Promethians to deal with (Soldiers and Wardens), others have been upgraded (Covie Elites, and Promethian Knights), and Jackel Snipers have reappeared. So from an enemy standpoint the game is tougher (except for H2 which is the toughest Halo campaign by consensus). What is also new and actually helpful are the other 3 Guardians in each fire team. They can be positioned to draw out hiding enemies and when I target a bad guy for them they (mostly) attack with great gusto. Also with score attack added and turned on, when I go into armor lock I can be revived if one of my Guardian buddies is alive and nearby. Same is true for me reviving one of them. A few more options for strategy. And of course there are skips and tricks to be had. Unconfirmed illustrates everything I just mentioned.
It also helps that H5 had been upgraded for 4K -- a much better view for sure.e
Nice. I actually forgot all about the Fireteam members, so that's a good point - it's been a while since I last played H5, especially the campaign.
Reunion is in the books. Features a neat out of map skip:

h4x0r!
Another one in the books. This is Genesis the 13th mission, featuring the tank teleport trick. I originally did this 2 years ago but decided to redo it with score attack on and in 4k, of course:

Mission 8, Swords of Sanghelios is in the books. This one was tough. Way too many nasty surprises!

Another one in the books: Mission 10, Enemy Lines. This one is a sprint to the Kraken which has to be destroyed, then to the Constructor room and a major firefight with Promethians. Btw, Mission 9 is called Before The Storm and is a simple no shot player participation cut scene.

Mission 12, Battle Of Sunaion, is in the books. This was another tough one, almost 2 hours of fight after fight after fight.

Interesting that when trying to run the mission I literally stumbled on a super bounce --

Mission 14, The Breaking is in the books. I was able to complete it on my first LASO attempt. It was definitely a grind except for the fun 3 Warden skip at the end. Worth watching the last minute or two. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1Sqml_rpZI&t=5040s
Mission 15, Guardians is done. This was a tough one, but it completes my Halo 5: Guardians Mythic LASO quest.

Been away from this thread for awhile, but started trying out Halo MCC on the PC (as well as Destiny). I am currently going back thru the Reach campaign on Mythic LASO difficulty. I have 5 missions done and uploaded and am currently working on Exodus. I decided to save Long Night Of Suffering -- I mean Solace for last. I have rendered the shorter missions in 4k and the longer ones in 1080P beause of time and space requirements. Here's a rerun of the first Mythic LASO mission I ran many years ago on the 360 -- Nightfall run now in 4k ultra HD on the PC. Mostly a speed run, but I had to go to a "plan B" towards the end.
