I heard about that too DEEP. Thankfully all 5 of mine counted. I believe you need to make sure it says Heroic Strikes at the bottom of the screen when queuing up for the strike. If not, back out and restart the search.
I think that works?
I just read about that solution before coming here. Thanks.
I finished the Clan XP challenge on my third character last night, presented myself to whats her name as a 346 and got 2 340 pieces. So that lower LL issue apparently appears in more than one place. I will see if that continues tomorrow after the reset.
Clan XP glitch still there. I presented my 348 Titan for the Clan XP reward and received 340 gear. Powerful gear my ass. Now it seems my minimal grinding will become even less. Thanks a lot Bungie.
Same issue with the clan engram here. Do NOT pick up your clan engram from Hawthorne if you have not already. At the end of the week it will automatically decrypt into high level gear which will show up in your inventory. See https://gamerant.com/destiny-2-clan-xp-bug-workaround/
Here is a tweet from Bungie about the clan engram:
We're actively investigating an issue where Clan XP Milestones grant low power rewards.
Until resolved, players can work around the issue by not collecting the Milestone from Hawthorne. At weekly reset the Milestone will auto-decrypt directly to inventory with a powerful reward.
I really wish they could put announcements like this right in the game. I've already decrypted all my engrams, so I guess I get shafted for not spending all my time on various message boards ....

I've been having fun just casually playing with all 3 classes and just taking it slow. I am a little disappointed with Escalation Protocol and the fact it takes an army just to complete Wave 1 due to the activity starting at 370. I would have appreciated it being a way to work our way up to Wave 7 with drops instead of people just ignoring the activity due to it being so unforgiving.
I do not expect to do "end game" content on day 1, but throw us a bone since this is "new" content.
One fun thing about Escalation Protocol (if you've completed the *short* campaign) is that you can mess with the noobs when they come to Mars. Just hop on one of the columns when they are going to kill some Red Legion and watch them get enveloped and devoured by a group of thralls. Good times :) So yes, they may have wanted to start with a lower light level requirement and build up in the waves ...
I was messaged and harassed today to get out of the area so that my "spot" could be taken by someone else. One of this group totally harassed my character until I left. Reported this. Downside of running solo, especially when I need to complete EP levels for the Warmind quest (or whatever it is named).
Speaking of that, I can report that the 5 Heroic Strike quest step works. Completed mine today. Just have the Ikelos weapon equipped before the strike ends. Also don't go after the sleeper nodes until you get past the 5 strikes step. The next step is 3 EP levels completed and 15 sleeper nodes found with the Ikelos weapon equipped.
Hey, I got a great idea for Bungie: move the Raid entry point to the main area of a Planet right next the nearest Public Event or Patrol Beacon. Boost the number of required players to 9, but keep the fireteam max at 6, or, preferably 3. Make it possible for any old low light idiot to trigger the Raid and ruin the whole dynamic, practically forcing serious Raiders to message them with death threats to get them to leave the area while simultaneously fruitlessly attempting to round up enough high light players before the timer runs out. Between the Guardians who leave the game out of frustration and the others booted for sending the death threats soon there won't be anyone left to complain about this being a train wreck.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up, Achy. I'll make sure to tread more extra carefully around those Escalation Protocol nodes.
I've been messaged too about helping with invites. I did help out one group last night becuase they were nice with their messages.
However, it still remains that this is a serious flaw on Bungie's part in putting this "end game" activity in a public space where people at all stages of the game are playing and just trying to do events and patrols. Why they didn't go with something more like what was designed in D1 is dumb. Prison of Elders was a good design, so just give us EP in a PoE-type setting where people have to specifically queue for the activity.
Now that this idea of messaging us solo players is gaining traction on places like Reddit, I expect it will only get worse.
I suppose it's dangerous to be a solo player nowadays...lol
I'm with you, DEEP. If someone tried to chase me out of an area, I might decide that the time was right for a nice long afk break just for spite. On the other hand, helping groups pull their friends in to boost the number of players in an underpopulated instance is in everyone's interest.
Strike 3 against Heroic Strikes. IGN says reward levels are lower than the recommended 350.

I wonder if holding off turning them in until this glitch is fixed will work.
I was going to turn one in shortly.

Beat me to it. Wish I knew about this yesterday. Won't visit Hawthorne for my other 2 characters.
Thanks for the updates.
I completed heroic Psionic Potential for the Nascent Dawn quest line, but the quest did not advance. Grrrr.
Looks like Bungie has released another well tested piece of software. What's that dripping? Oh...sarcasm.
Read this. It's not worth playing this game until September.

I was one of those unsuspecting noobs that got totally wrecked by Thralls on Day 1...lol

I ignore all messages and will camp any area where these abhorrent organized activities occur. At least until my activity is complete or I get bored.
I despise bullies and being bullied.
