My Series X arrived on the 12th. I have it vertically oriented. It's whisper quiet, fast to startup, games on the internal SSD load incredibly faster. I intend to only keep my favourite games on SSD and swap other games from HDD to SSD and back again as required.
I haven't tried any next gen games yet.
I haven't tried the Bluray yet for game loads or movies.
Just started playing the Xbox Series X version of Destiny 2. It doesn't take much observation before you begin to appreciate the improvements that PC players have been enjoying.
60fps, glad to see image bluring seriously reduced.
Draw distances for fine details much improved. Everything seems sharper/clearer.
I haven't delved into HDR in this new version but will soon. My 3yr old 4K was an early HDR10 compliant model and HDR was sometimes good and sometimes bad. Bungie seemed to be dicking around with HDR settings and things would be going well and then garbage.
Now that more and more games such as Destiny2 are being upgraded with the Series X resources, I can definitely see a difference. Not spending as much times on load screens is a big plus, too.
Broke down and started my "attempt" at getting an X. Restock windows are very small, but I was able to get one thru all access at Walmart. Since I already have game pass elite, paying monthly for it thru all access is not an issue. At some point I will box up my 2 xbox ones and head over to the local gamestop to get a trade in check.
Just sent my 2nd Series X back to M$ for repair/replace. Same problem as 1st -- after playing a game for a little while everything locks up. Only thing I can do is the old unplug and plug it back in routine to get it to boot back up. I believe it was overheating even with it set up vertical and in open area for ventillation. Really glad I got an "S" as a back up. That one has been working fine.
M$ replaced my 2nd X with a 3rd. I suppose 3rd times the charm because this one is working OK so far -- when I use it. With all the problems I moved over to XBOX on the PC.
Thinking about the X. Something about the S not supporting enhanced resolution games (4K). No hurry though. Playing Destiny and MCC on PC now in 4K.
I will be getting Series X. The new S sounds very capable but I dislike the idea of being one step behind.
I succeeded in pre-ordering an Series X. It was a messy affair on Microsoft but eventually it worked.
We preordered two Xbox Series X's...
We preordered 2 Xbox Series X's...
I supposedly have a Series X pre-ordered. I guess we'll see come Nov 10th.
I ordered an X and an S. S for upstairs OLED, X for my main console on my 133" projector.
Also ordered a PS5 Digital
I'm waiting a bit.
Probably for the best - there's not a lot that takes advantageof it out right now. Could be soon, though.
