Alternate builds/tunes are available for free on my SF. They are for the Ferarri and Bentley and are Hi HP as opposed to grip builds. Be warned, they are not easy drives and I do not claim to be a proper tuner, but they work for me. I much prefer brute force for this track. Le Mans needs a good beating with a large stick, not gentle persuasion ;) Make sure steering is not SIM. Oh - and have fun dealing with the moronic AI in the main braking zones at the end of the straights.
Yes, the AI can be idiots when they are coming up behind you. That is why all cars have a rear view mirror. That aside. I find if I give them breathing room (something that we do not do with Humans) you can have an incident free race. You just have to anticipate and take your time. My Bentley race is done also. But I may take advamtage of your tunes seeing that I have the "short and sweet races" done.
I am back into the season play with only TCS on certain cars and no map, speedometer, brake line and cockpit view. Lose many a race (because it's pretend RL) but having a ball.
Oh, it's not the ones coming up behind. My braking is deep and late, much more than the AI. It's the numpties up front braking like grannies that are the issue. Now I can adjust for that. The even bigger issue are the AI's that still put it in the chicane gravel and then drive back onto the track with no regard for anyone
Got my Bentley Race in. No damage and it's up on my SF. Did the MKII again. Yes, I said I wouldn't. But I'm human after all. And they are short ones. Improved a good deal over the Ferrari. And a claen run. Might even do another run with each car for fun with all assists off, no map, no speedometer in cockpit view. Will be slower but much more challenging.
Done and done. Pm sent. When is the next main event and when will the deadline be? Cheers
Sometime mid July. Will probably be a TT and Race. Track is Iberian FC Reverse. It's a dead ringer for Lime Rock Park. Cars will be the 752 Panoz and Jaguar. A 2 pit stop race because the pits are so short. Traffic all the way.
And the AI is tolerable if you just anticipate ahead of time. In my mind I run it as if I was a RL driver. Way better than the Timmys' in the public rooms. But so is a sharp stick in the eye.
Having fun running these sprint races. I'll be giving all 3 cars one last try this weekend. Getting used to the AI dingbats. Eagerly awaiting the next challange along side Poidsly.
Bumped to make easier for me to remember to send pm and put replays on storefront ;>)
Whatever works.
Due to recent death in the family circumstances (Mother in Law), LeMans results will be posted after the 15th.
Deadline is extended to the 15th for anyone who is man enough to try these "FULL SIM RACES". Innocent is forgiven. He is just learning the "ins & outs" of what being Henpecked will be like.
Dai Bongo is not. He is the one who complains that he loses points due to missed races because of his work schedule. No conflict here buddy. Ziggy, no need to win the race to score points. And Dawg1. Get your moving stuff done and get racing again. A ton of other chickens I could razz, but don't have the time.
Results of Bonus LeMans race is up in 1st thread. Round #4 race parameters will be posted by 7/22/2012. Only 3 participants for LeMans. Have the info for next 3 rounds prepared. Will limp along until then and make decision on whether to pull the plug on the series unless people start to join in. Thought this was a good idea. Didn't expect a huge turnout but would have like more numbers. No problem of a schedule conflict in this one. Thanks to all who took the time to run in any of the TT's or races. Guess I was wrong on the premise of a full sim scenario, risk vs reward type of race. Maybe the thought of tuning a car, adding paints and then having it ruined by a mistake (either yours or by the AI) was a negative. Or the concept of running alone was too season playish. I do think that many drivers are leery of doing a somewhat longer race with those consequences. But I also think that some speedsters might not like the idea of the leveling effect that full sim has. I do miss the endurance races that we had in FM3's season play. I picked a car that I had won during play and then had to run it without upgrading it to another class. F class excluded.
Reminds me of the phrase I thought of a few weeks ago while in a room (which I always enjoy)with other clan members........
“What's the difference between the Timmys in the public rooms and your clan members.” Your clan buddies will always say they're sorry after they punt you off the track during the first turn every race.
A full sim race series with a core bunch of guys. That would be so cool.
Sorry Mark, due to upping my training regime at boxing I dont have much down time for racing anymore.
So I will have to respectfully bow out of this series. it's been a great fun series but I just don't have the time at the moment.

No problem. I do a lot of low tech fitness myself in the form of swimming. Did bit of boxing in college but they don't have bouts for us seniors anymore. So I'll stick to swimming. Much less blood if you do it correctly.
I'll keep running these as long as you have them going. It usually takes me a few laps to settle down. I don't mind the full sim. First time was frustrating, but now I'm getting used to it. Thanks for running them Mark !!!!
I've really enjoyed it and hope you keep running it.
I think that it's simply a question of time for many. Busy and over committed despite the freedom of running it anytime. Lot of series to choose from.
I like the fact it has pushed me out of my comfort zone and genuinely think it's improved my race craft in the EUSL series. To get ahead you have to make microsecond judgements on whether an opportunity to overtake exists or not. In A class and below it now feels like the decision window for a move is stretched compared to S/R class.
Oh, and I can only STRONGLY RECOMMEND joining this even this late.
That's aimed particularly at new members who want a low stress environment to develop some skills.

Attention all New Members. Please heed the advice of the current races series leader and get in some needed practice time.
And PTR Pap has allowed me to use his new idea when I am on in the future. Already have saved it as a race scenario. None of that mad crush to the 1st turn that just happens by mistake.
I've been consumed by the livery editior and haven't turned a single lap in weeks.
Will do my damnedest to get this round done!
No swearing on my thread please. If you can, that's great. If not, Porsches are waiting for you next round.
Ran the race again with my new wheel that Soapynuts kindly donated to me. BL was about 1 sec slower although my consistencey wasn't there. And the fact that I took 30% & 36% damage to the front bumper and side panels didn't help either. But had a great time. I had to be on alert much more than when I use the controller. Finished about 1min slower and in 12th place.
I'm done too. Ran both cars one last time this morning. Jag was fastest for me....even tho the Panoz seemed smoother. Had another great time running this one. One of these days I'm gonna get thru a complete race w/o any contact....always seem to have some disagreement with some AI driver @ sometime..hehe. Never amounts to much and I'm sure if I was a bit more patient sometimes....maybe.... Great Fun !!!! Thanks !! Mark !!!!
Final Results at bottom of 1st thread. I have decided to suspend the series. My schedule and the low participation are the two main reasons. I want to thank all who ran.
I will try to help Gary/insanerc with his ProAm series. I can contribute my extensive knowledge in playing a video game. Unfortunately, he will not accept any of my tuning help as I have none to offer.
If you see me on late/early in the eve/morning on FM3, please jump in. I will be running races for fun on tracks that Turn 10 foolishly decided to omit from FM4. We will run all the goodies. Camino Extreme Reverse (much better than forward), NY, Bugatti, Sidewinder and the real Rally de Positano. No brake line (chickens, need not apply) and the leader in the lobby will start from the back. An occasional short sim race when the track has a pit.
Thanks for the Fun Mark !!!! Sorry you're suspending the series. I really enjoyed it. If you ever get it restarted or just want to post up a challenge let me know. I'm up for it.
:(
Thanks for running it. Will be back if you restart or do something similar. Has taught me lots of skills.
In the meantime, does that make me 2O4F 2012 ALMS Champion
:)

The 3 of us. Gold, Silver & Bronze, baby. Might run a once a month race in the future.
