When you are ready to create your official series or event thread, This is how I'd like to ask that you do it...
Before starting your thread here, first please create a discussion thread in our regular forums. Then you can come here& create your series thread posting all the relevant info. Within this thread, create a link to the discussion thread in the regular forums somwhere in the body.As new threads appear here, I will then lock them so they will be "read only" so to speak.

Now that we've been up for a few weeks & had time to test out the site, I think that this old method wasn't the best way to go perhaps. By having Series & event organizers, creating 2 threads for your events has just muddled things as opposed to making it easier on folks. I think people are seeing the discussion threads & then not coming here to chack for new stuff. So from now on we'll go back to using a single thread for series/event info & discussion.
Once a series has ended, the thread will be locked so it wil drop down & the active stuff will stay on top.

It was just supposed to be a quick and easy way for new folk to find their way around, and as such did it's job. If you remove it they have to go back to hunting through pages of posts. I thought the idea was to just have a list of current events and a link to the disussion thread. That was were updates and ongoing discussions could be found. So there is only one thread connected to an event.
Once people learn that to find information about race events they need to visit the "race Series and Events" sub forum only then will be there ONE thread..discussion etc. all in one thread. No matter how we organize this a new person will intially be a tad overwhelmed, they'll get over it.
Hmm I suspect some give up, I know I have seen people join and leave within the space of a week or two. The Race and Events forum seemed to lose it's way quite quickly, event posts were supposed to be locked after the info was posted. This seems to have stopped after the first three or four. Leaving the others open led to them being used so some events have a discussion thread and some don't. The point was to only have one discussion thread, that was in the most used main forum...Ah well I've said me bit
Just wanted to try it out 7 see how things worked, but after further thought, I think spreading things out over 2 threads is a bad idea. Hence the change. I understand it's not the easiest thing lerning ones way here, but ultimately if someone wants to get involved, then they'll figure it out or ask someone. If they're to lazy or shy to at least do one of those things, then prehaps we really don't need them. I've spent nearly the last 4 years trying to hold peoples hands around here. But we're all adults & should be able to handle it.
Besides being just a bit tired of forza, trying to get this club to run on it's own is part of why I've not been playing much. I wanted to see how things would go.
Well there wasn't supposed to be two threads, but as some of the event info posts were left unlocked it ended up that way, I guess it needed a mod with access to forum tools that was on duty when the admin weren't. This is the method used on the forum I admin, so I would for example be able to lock/unlock, edit and delete posts in my thread. But as this one doesn't work that way then ease of use will sometimes make way for ease of administration. I think anyway the club will continue if you step back, the 2O2E crew will continue to try and build our end and I'm sure the US end are doing the same.
When all is said and done it's no big deal, it's just as a relatively new member I can still clearly remember being totally bemused, and it came so close to being nice and easy. I was helped because I am forum literate from both a user and admin point of view so knew how to go about things. But I suppose it is still better than what we had before in that there will still be a clear place to go to find events....Heh you know me by now, just say what I think

Trust me mate, not in a million years could you get close to those...nope words fail me. It invaded everything including real life. Two of the moderators nearly loosing their jobs because of false accusations. This place is nirvana in comparison.

I mean, if you don't know where to go, just ask, and the next as...er person that comes along will give you their opinion, everyone does around here! This I've learned doing my time here.
