2O4F Track Days!!
2O4F Track Days!!
I’d like to try something a little different to our regular events. Here's a chance to get in your favorite car, and simply put some miles on it. Improve your track awareness in a fun, non-competative environment. Get a virtual taste of an actual track day.
Car Restrictions:
1. Must be a production car.
2. Must be stock from the showroom floor.
3. Must have original manufacturer's paint (tasteful stripes, and license plates acceptable).
Rules of the Road:
1. Passing is allowed only on the straights, and only on the left. The slower car will announce that they are aware of the faster car, and move to the right hand side of the track at corner exit.
2. If you have an off (all 4 wheels off the track) you must make a manditory pit stop immediately.
3. Racing lines will be turned off.
4. Cockpit view is strongly encouraged, but not enforced.
Sessions:
1. There will be three 30 minute sessions.
2. Each session will take place at a different track.
3. Grid ordering will be decending PI.
4. There will be a short rolloff delay.
When:
1. If there's interest I'm looking at alternate Saturdays starting at 7:30pm GMT (that's 12:30pm PDT, 8:30pm BST).
2. Please let me know if you could be an alternate host of the event, as I am quite notorious for not being able to make every event.
Tracks:
Saturday, June 30
Road Atlanta Full
Catalunya National
Alps Festival
Hell yeah, I'd be down....assuming I'm around the house.
Sounds good to me...
no striping, custom wheels, sport anything?
Hooker Header decal in the wing window?
If the car came with striping you can have striping
Otherwise bone stock. Basically you're driving "your" daily driver whether you're a burger flipper or a plastic surgeon.
Yep I like the sound of this count me in.
Even my '67 Chevelle has pin striping...vinyl, came in a blister pak...with matching rims...

I'll drive my 9-11 as I'm a dentist that day...
I'm with oldschool on the "street" livery. I've got a few cars that have pinstripes and license plates. No race liveries or numbers. You could set the room to "Force Stock Tuning", to enable participants to utilize cars out of thier garage, but still run showroom stock tune.

Either way though, I'll make it if I can.
Striping, and licence plates are a go. Just didn't want to see full on race livery's.
Yeah the room will be set to force stock build/tune for sure.
I haven't decided how rich I'll be for the first track day yet. Probably pretty rich
I'm thinkin of going all Miami Vice with the white Testarossa.
I'll be in - In the spirit of the track day, you can set the grid to random and have people pull away as they please with a parade lap?
Though cant make this one :)
iam usually around on a saturday so count me in.
You could simply pull away when the car ahead of you has pulled away. No charging up the middle, or taking the grass on the outside to pass a slow starter.
I was messing around last night and set up a trial for this. It was actually really fun, and 30 mins felt short.
I've seen no actual launch date for the Cayman series yet so we will have a go this Saturday.
The first set of tracks will be:
NA: Road Atlanta Full
EU: Catalunya National
T10: Alps Festival
nawwwwww...
I think if i was running, i'd run a stock exige/lotus, perhaps a saloon car and then a hot hatch :D
Hopefully we'll get enough of a turnout, and you can get in on the next one
I might go all out "movie / tv" cars...(Magnum P.I., Nash Bridges, NCIS L.A., etc.)
The biggest surprise for me was how quickly I got on without the braking line. I'm not even considering removing the brake line for races where the car and track change, but when you drive the same car on the same track for 30 mins you kinda figure it out by the end.
is this still happening every saturday ?
Sorry Paps, I was scrambling to get the last of my stuff moved and get some projects done on the SVT in preparation for the road trip to South Dakota.
I will try to make a note of this event... I am a sort of a night owl so its a little early for me on the pacific coast but I will make an effort to go to bed early next friday lol.
