Assetto Corsa
Assetto corsa is developed by an Italian company named Kunos
"developed on the track" is there theme for the title which is currently on sale for the next 48 hrs on steam for $29
http://steamcommunity.com/app/244210
i haven't spent much time with the title but looks and feels quit promising!!!
i came across this tip guide for those interested in getting a proper setup
http://simhqmotorsports.com/assetto-corsa-hints-tips-part-1/
mince I get setup properly and spend a bit more time with it I'll post my first impressions.
feel free to post comments/tips/info about the game here!
Number one tip? Wait till it has some more features hot lapping on your own is a bit pointless LOL
Work away kurupt I'll join in when there is a little more to the game, early next year I think is their plan.
They posted a video on there site showing ai and multiplayer....with a message below saying big announcement on dec 24th plus the fact it's on sale for $29 it's very hard not to pass that up....when back to full price it is est $49 +
I'll save you the cash and disappointment for your once claimed "dark horse sim " since I know you'll be comparing it too your favorite and since you hate Pcars ........
knowing what's in the works for Pcars and what's missing from the FFb ATM Ac feels very similar to Pcars and in the end it will be like comparing r07 to rf1 the only difference will be Pcars will have far more ingame content and Ac will have modding. Physic wise quit similar and ATM Ac feels far more grippier
ac has a nice comfortable console feel and to me reminds me of an advanced forza which my self and I believe many others have been seeking which attrack the masses and keep the lobbies full. So if your looking for simple ui and the greatest physics since rf2 I doubt you'll be impressed. But for $29 it's the best value available :)
Oh I'm sure it is going to be a kinda PC/Console thing, and I not at all against that, I might dive in if multi player and AI are on the way, buy it and wait for the build to hit. Not looking for a simple UI at all, I work very hard to get more into a certain UI and that is getting a full overhall next year anyway. Yes I did think they were going more sim, and that was the impression they gave at the start, but to be honest it makes sense for them to go for a more mass market, as we well know the more simlike the game the smaller the market.
Just like I bought into pCars not wanting it to fail and waste my money, I will buy into AC, I just was not prepared to spend too much time on a track by myself.
Yes rF2 will remain my sim of choice, it rocks my boat, challenges me and makes me a better racer. But there is room for other games, and that is what they are when all is said and done, and our little disagrements are always in fun, we have a gas on track and that is what it's all about in the end :)
Im just glad I didnt try it with the same enthusiasm and hype riddled excitement that most did as i'd be hell of a dissapointed.
It seems more of a driving game like GT to me.
Lots of emphasys on the cars ride.
I couldn't agree more....the second I had the rear snap away from me and it went into a violent tanker slapper the only vision and comparison that came to my head was the first time I drove fm4 with ms wheel just with more rattling lol
Ive put in alittle more time into the game and there is some stuff i enjoy about
cars and tracks are nicely done and current content seems to be optimized so its very easy on the system.
easy setup and ui navigation......very console like
the ffb is very nice and not overdone, good feedback of what the tires are doing on the road/grip which feel like a tire and gives smooth feedback to the wheel, ive found in other games the road effects are so violent on bumps with my wheel it makes me feel like the tires are made of marble
than theres the on track driving..........Iam a firm believer that cars are easy to drive and most sims need more grip. They dont need to be made difficult to be a simulator its how you get around the track that makes you fast. However I find every car easy/grippy as a lower class fwd car in forza 4 :(
Theres little to no oversteer when exiting corners, you can down shift 1 to many gears and slam the brakes last second into a hairpin and still have full control of the car and everyone that watches motorsports have seen a car leave the pits or off the line with a burnout and see the cars rear wobblewith a little cold tire snap.......this game you can leave a perfect set of 11's 100ft with ease lol.
personally i think theres a tad too much grip and not enough reprocustions for driving like an idiot. I dont think a car should be out to kill you on the slightest mistake, but ive had more of a challenge driving my 220hp awd a4 on a sunny day than ive had with some of the supercars wiyhin the game
Early access 22% off, if you haven't grabbed it yet nows the time and a hell of a deal!

I purchased Assetto Corsa thru Steam on 2/8/14 as of 2/12/14 it is nowhere to be found ,it doesnt even show as purchased . My credit card did show as paid to Steam. The game is not in my steam account or library . I contacted Steam and the only response I got from Steam is, check the account you made the purchase with . I say to myself "really that your support response !" . Anyway if anyone has had this problem please let me know how it was resolved. Thanks.
Did you dl anything when you purchased it? Send them a receipt of your credit card.
i had something similar on origin with bf4 I had it loaded and played it for a month, than a update came out and it disappeared from my library, it says to enter the key when I do it says this key has already been used please contact origin......something I've yet to do lol
A new build for assetto corsa has been released today adding the mclearen mp4-12c gt3 to the mix as well as tons off optimizastions
http://www.racedepartment.com/assetto-corsa-v0-6-5-released/
Ok I finally received A.C now I need help with cockpit view (im to close to the windshield) automatic transmission and FFB and wheel adjustment. Please help. From what I've played which isn't much it looks very nice .
FFb options are on your home screen under options/controls mine aren't perfect but iam content with it ATM and feels very detailed.
Gain 75% curbs 90% road 90% slip 25%
fov is under display it will ask you for a percentage that you'll have to play with to change the triple screen it's ingame move your cursor to the far right and bunch of widgets will open up in there will be a triple screen adjuster.
I gave it a run last night in the mclearen and was very impressed. To me out of all the sims I have it just felt natural and comfortable while driving, still not perfect but I enjoy it....something with braking is a bit strange as you can slam on the brakes and stop on a dime without any lock up or slides like you have the best/strongest abs on and tank slappers when trying to save a slide are quit previlant and hard to avoid. It seems the tire re gains grip to quickly during slides which causes a pendulum reaction. For a beta iam happy with the product this far, but like the other sims only time will tell how the final product will be
I will try those settings tonight. Thanks !
Hey Ink, Move your mouse to the far right side of your screen when in race and a menu bar will show up. There are all kinds of on screen adjustment to fiddle with.
Ac had a new update that introduced a new track and car this fri.
the link shows a video comparison for the nurburg gp coarse

Ac announced the new c7 corvette and stingray will be joining the list of cars

It's looking good, need to pick this up sometime soon, but I'm having way too much fun in GSC2013 at the moment!
Gsc2013 is pretty awesome and made me retire rf1. You should check out race department they run daily races with that sim.
Have you tried the blanc pain mod for it? Awesome I prefer it much more than the rfactor version simply because my audis aren't bugged and it just looks beautiful on those reiza tracks.
Assetto corsa is currently on sale through steam for $26 and makes it a no brainer for that price and quality of the game :)

Hey guys, I didn't see it mentioned yet, so I'd figure I'd add that anyone playing AC should download the RSR app for the game. It brings a full leader board for all car/rack combinations and also for all special events. It even integrates into AC's dashboard and has an in game app overlay where can see where you stand in real time on the track. Brilliant mod
I read about this on one of insidesimracing videos looks interesting and good while the game is in development.
It's basically a mashup of Forzas rivals mode + leaderboards, but does one better by keeping track of every car and track.
There's another app that gives an analog style tach, and has some other goodies like laptimes built into it. I'll try to post links tomorrow when I'm at my computer
I was a bit off on the description for that Tach app. Its called Rivali OV1. It's got an analog tach, digital speedo, tire temp and wear, suspension travel , fuel gage, any aids you have turned on, and more. Just extract the files to Assetto Corsa root, and enable app from the right side of the screen while driving.
http://rivalitempo-softgrip.rhcloud.com/apps
Rivali also has a leaderboard app on that page as well, but I haven't had a chance to give that a go yet.
The leaderboard app I've been using is the RSR Live Timing App. Installation is the same as the Rivali apps, download and extract to root. To enable the RSR app on the Main screen you have to enable it from Options -> General, then check RSR LiveTiming Web.

Niki lauders Ferrari 312T f1 will be making it into this fri update
