Yeah, I originally thought of that and it makes things simpler, but I decided I want that extra pi so folks can build and tinker. Everyone's approach will show, from yours (and my) MORE POWER, attitude, to Fitzy's It needs more glue philosophy - what a Pudsey
I like the idea of three weights. Light b500/sport b475/sport?????
The key will be for us to share out our builds/tunes to all who want them and make sure the club garages have a good version of each.
I'm thinking qualification with b500 (6 laps) with points awarded 10/8/6/3/2/1/1, then race 1 with b475 etc (12 laps) for places 1-3 (lobby points grid) points something like 15/12/10/6/5/4/3 etc and finally race 2 (reverse grid) with places 1-3 from race 1 joining the quali guys on b475. Points as per race 1.
The sports weight build seems pretty close in Aliens hands. I'm about 1 second down from that.
That would give the mid runners and amateurs the opportunity to mix it up a bit, whilst I think the Aliens will still have the opportunity to win with better consistency and race craft :) ????
In the BMW series I was doing there was no restriction to the build at all and in the end everyone ended up pretty equal. In one race someone had a real homerun of a build/tune but they were already handicapped so instead of dishing out a beatdown they "just" ran up front.
In the first race with two very different car and open builds people were running extremely close to each other with a bunch of the field withing a second or so.

Any more development on this Poids?
I've made my mind up, yes. Pretty much as I was thinking in my previous post.
But I arrived in San Francisco about 4 hours ago for a two week break, and won't be able to post final details until I get back.
Yeah. Not been to the West Coast before. Will be paying it off for the next year and more though.
The mx5 races are my sort of thing. Might drop in to the latter stages in a guest sort of way.
