that is pretty sweet. but damn 300 beans for that.
$270 on amazon. I owuld like to see one befor eI buy one. It will be worth it if it is a quality screen.
Reviews I've read all say screen is great. Supposed to be on display and available to purchase at all the Microsoft Stores across the country. And, I'm guessing there'll be a price drop as Summer roles around because the new/improved version is supposed to release around June. I saw an article about a pre-order discount for the new version, but I'm not willing to drop that kinda $$ on a pre-order unless I know the older version also kicked arse.
A 2o2p member who I haven't played with in 900 years and have never seen post but who is now going to show up and bitch about the fact that I forgot his name brought this prototype to the 2007 Chicago Lan...
That pile of wire snippets and excised CAT 5 plugs in the back ground will give you some idea of how sophisticated we were. I'm also thinking this might have ben the year of the great chandelier debacle. But I might be mixing my LAN's up...
Still waiting to hear from the Mariott. They tried to tell me the ballroom was 3 times the cost from 2 years ago after I already spent the last month working on setting up the event. Now we're in he said she said battle and I'm trying to look for other hotels in the mean time. If anything the date will probably be push back a bit.

There is a place nearby that would function well, but there is also not much else to do in Fort Wayne....I am also unaware of cost.
For 50 people rent a pole barn and rent a generator :-)
"The Hotel will be providing a bar directly next to the Lan room so we ask that members DO NOT bring their own food or beverage into the Lan.
We're paying for the conference room, we should get to do what we like. It's not as if we rented a hotel room we wouldn't be able to go buy food and bring it back to our room to eat - this should be no different. I can't believe they force you to agree to this. What if we were renting the room for a dinner or something? They couldn't enforce that. Just seems like it shouldn't be allowed as a stipulation.
The cost of the space for the Lan is based on an algorithm that includes the hotels expected return on room rentals and ancillary sales. Doodi spends an assload of time negotiating these things in an effort to make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy it. If it comes with some strings attached that's the reason why. Thanks Doodi and thanks to whoever is kicking in some major cash.
Do we know who kicked in the big 3K? If it's a company, I'm already interested in buying whatever they sell, be it sex toys, lawnmowers, or microwaves, I don't care.

It was a site member. I'll post more info when I make sure they are ok with it.
As a new person to this site, I'm definitely interested in going but have a couple questions. One, I'm pretty much a solo gamer (hence why I started to join gaming forums), I don't have any friends who are into gaming like me. Saying that I'd probably end up coming up that way by myself (please no sympathy ), so is this an event for clan groups or a place I could show up and meet some new gaming friends????
Second I did a quick search on the Hyatt room reservations and they "appear" to be sold out. Do I have to stay at that hotel in order to show up at the LAN party?
And Lastly I noticed there was a 50 person cap. Has that limit been reached?

The limit has not been reached, the hotel is not sold out (use this link to reserve ytour room, it means you get the discount as well as 2o2p getting credit for the reservation and keeping the LAN affordable: https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_ei_new&eventID=9965411), and everyone in and out of a clan is welcome.
I've been to every Chicago LAN and while I've seen clans show up in force and represent mightily I've never seen them try to exclude anyone.
As for making gaming friends, in my mind this is just about the only place to do it.
Word. Doc, you'll have no issue making friends and joining into whatever you want to play. "Clans" may show up and group a little, but it's never exclusionary. Everyone's welcome, and really a lot of the time will be spent just hanging and shooting the shit about games.
Yeah, this would be a great venue for me, especially if some people road trip it, like from the west to Chicago, I would help with gas money and totally carpool to Chicago, but plane ticket for me, being in Nebraska would be kinda cheap too. I'll keep in touch, but I love to meet people, so I am gonna try to save money for it.

have one, and it is pretty sweet..........would be down for a lan finally after 5 years of thinking about it.......

I believe that is accurate
that would've been 2009...
Also, I still can't believe we got away with that.
Doodi, any word?
Doodi says either August 10-12 or August 17-19.
Fuck you doodi, we want answers. Answers!!!!!!

Translation: Doodi hasn't talked to anyone yet.
Giving updates is pointless.
Fucking crybaby.
LANs are the best, seriously.
Doodi, do me a favour and push it back to August 2013
That should give you guys time to add less gay smileys to the forums (and when I'll be able to afford to go again /sigh)
LAN! Halo 4! Win! Stab someone!
Pretty sure I'm in
My ticket is purchased.
What is the cost for a ticket to get into the LAN?
The cheapest tickets available now are $100. Plus hotel coverage for the weekend.
WHOA. Who sponsered the LAN? Someone just put in the $3K backing.
Yeah, I saw that. Wow, that's great!
On another note, this bugs me every time:
