Eight of you used my initial laptime as a stepping stone on your way up the leaderboard. And while my bounty couldn't have garnered you more than a few thousand credits at best, don't think that your act went...unnoticed.

Seven of you have tasted the exhaust fumes of defeat as I have vanquished you one by one and collected a significantly higher bounty against you than you did against me.  The eighth, Mr. x2O4FxSurf, survived my wrath only because I choose not to use the manual clutch on my MS Wheel. Even if I did his time would still be difficult to beat. A worthy adversary indeed.

Enough medieval speak. Time for some Kudos!!!

Thank you to anyone that downloaded and rated my Celica paints. For a short time the Canon livery was the Top Rated item in the storefronts.

Congrats to DirtT for dominating the tuning downloads. 3500 plus downloads and counting.

A certain other tuning house has only "sold" 451 Celica tunes. And that's a combined total between the 03 and 92 Celicas.

Also to date the five DirtT Celica liveries have achieved 327 downloads. The other tuning house's livery has only been downloaded 4 times.

Thank you DirtT for allowing me to help you vanquish your foe in this week's challenge.

BTW. I made one small change to the tune for my laps. For whatever reason I wasn't having any problems with the braking for the sharp corners (the car stops on a dime) but I couldn't find my rythmn into the last turn.  I adjusted the BP back to 100% which made it easier to trail brake into the last corner. My final time tonight was a 1:05.374. Before adjusting the BP back my best time earlier this week was a 1:05.377.  It's not the tune, it's the driver.  :)

Heh I spent half an hour chasing TemeLolman and never quite managing to beat his time, I could get a nose in front on the first corner hold it for half a lap but always lose out on the second half...I'm done, and fingers crossed it's good enough.

I would like to thank Rocket and Dirt for the celica tune.  My first few efforts with it got me to low 6s. I did make a change or 2 that got me into the low 5s. without your tune to help me, this never would have happened. thanks

Lmao Shaggy !!     Thanks for the callout !!  I'm sure I'll have a long list of taunts in my inbox later today.  Still think i can get a bit more out of it.  I never felt I ran my best lap.  I love the challenge of  figuring out how a particular car or tune wants or needs to be driven.  I can get obsessed sometimes.

You guys obviously know this, but the tune is fantastic!

This morning, I took a shot at learning manual + clutch and blasted up the LB once I started getting the hang of it. Sitting at 1:05.493 and confident I go faster if I need to...

I'm bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th maybe three or four times before I set into the last turn. Is the gearing able to set that a tad longer, just 4th gear?

I've run into the same thing.  I've been shifting to 5th and staying on the power just after turn in. I'd then trail brake back to 4th and slowly get back on the throttle coming out of the corner.
It worked but there was a lot of effort on my part to try and keep the car balanced through all the transitions.

One theory I had after setting my lap last night was to back off the throttle a touch so I'm not bouncing off the limiter and try to coast the car into the corner without braking and just use the throttle to balance the car through the corner. That might work better, but I haven't tested it enough to know for sure.

It didn't appear that Surf was braking at all for the final turn, but I haven't watched his replay to see how he was getting into and through the last corner.

One other thing I noticed on the top alien drivers. You can go over the outside rumble strip almost to the grass without incurring a dirty lap.  I think you just need to be fully back on track by S/F so your next lap doesn't get dirtied.  That'll give you an extra 3/4 to full car width's worth of track to work with exiting the final corner.  Again, haven't tried it myself yet, but it might be worth investigating.

I usually am into 5th gear before that final turn. I just did about a dozen laps today to post a time and win some Fredits. ;)

Just a heads up--some tuners have found a way to glitch the 03 Celica build. That's why their tune is faster. We confirmed this with V12 and Worm's 2nd tune. Something to do with swapping the turbocharger and then adding an intercooler to drop the PI.

What is the glitch about? Whenever you add an intercooler you add weight to the car which in almost all cases drops the pi. Overall horsepower is higher but handling balance is affected also. How much lower does the pi drop?

It's a T10 approved glitch that can be done to any car with an aspiration upgrade.

Raddo and M3, I should NOT be able to beat your times. Go back and improve, you can do it! Thanks to DiRT for the tune.

When I went up the leaderboard, M3 hadn't set a time yet and I too was surprised that I squeaked by Raddo.
For the purposes of this contest they are fast enough to beat HTKenan and they've got the rest of June to decide if they want to improve ot not.

What's up with HTKenan?
He's in that window where he either needs to set a new final time to beat or let his current time stand so the rest of the Community that hasn't bested his time has one last shot at it.
When you're the hunted, it ain't about stroking your own ego.

Anyone noticed he set a 1:06.400 with no replay? Methinks he may have used his keyboard to set that lap time.

the PI drops by 7 which allows you to run full weight reduction, doesnt add HP but you can reduce the overall weight by around 20kg or 40lb thereabouts compared to a standard build hence its up to .7 seconds quicker..
