New pc parts are coming on Tues. Soon as I'm done building it and loading a os then I'm firing D3 up. Rolling a Barbarion and plan on wreaking shop all day.
Mr402 is my battletag for D3. I'm also looking for steam friends if folks are interested.
Battetag is Cust0m45#1388 (everything to the right of the # is optional in case you do not know the name to add someone) I am available nearly everyday from 3pm-8pm PST Sundays and Mondays off work.
I'll likely pick this game up this week, though I don't know if I'll get a chance to play. When I do get a chance I'll likely try to run through it on normal my first try so I can just explore a bit without having to worry if I'm slowing someone else down. Once I'm through that though I'll be up for loot runs!
Well at this rate I dont think the servers will be up for anyone to play this week. Blizzard really dropped the ball on this release which is surprising considering the square enix fiasco and how it killed FF 14.

Played all night in a group without any problem (maybe a little lag now and again).
There are makor problems blizzard is trying to fix at the moment while trying to keep the servers up. However, they were unable to do so as they were down for several hours earlier and now it seems they are having problems with them again. Not everyone will be effected by the server issues unless blizzard takes the servers down themselves but a large number of people definitely are having issues.
Pre-purchased and pre-downloaded and ready to roll. Going through it with some RL friends but when they aren't around I'll be up for some hot co-op action. 1 more week of work then I'm off for 2 weeks :) sweet D3 action.
I'm looking for some non-random folks to play coop with. My battletag is ScoutAbout#1446. I'm also looking for Steam friends, by the way. Steam name is Scout_About. On a related note, I'm very new to this whole PC gaming thing (I've played consoles for years but got my first real gaming PC last year) and wondered whether I need a PC headset to play coop games (such as Diablo and ME 3 multiplayer). I assume it would be a good thing so that I can actually talk to people I'm trying to coop with. But I haven't a clue as to what I need to do to set it up (I gather it's not essentially plug and play like my Xbox). Do I need special software or something? Once I get the headset will it be relatively obvious how to set it up?
Well, please feel free to send me a friend request or whatever it is called through battle.net. Just include something about 2old2play when you do so I don't think you are some random person and decline. I may do the same for some of the battletags listed above.
Well I did break down and buy the game as I thought I would. Installed it over lunch and attmped to play this afternoon but wouldn't you know...servers down. Was able to pop in for about 40 minutes tonight and then I was booted from a game....servers down...can't get back in.
While I'm sure this is a temporary situation, it still is frustrating that a company would create a game that *forces* me to have an internet connection to play AND then I can't play because I can't get into their servers that they are forcing me to be on.
Ah well, I'm sure it's a temp thing but still...
My barbarian is, or rather was, level 5. I had just turned lvl 5 when I was booted so I don't know for sure what'll happen when I get back. So far game is fun, though my initial thought is I don't like the skill tree system, and I definitely do not like not being able to set my own stats when I level. Why would they take that away from you? Overall it seems like they sort of dumbed down the R in the RPG when it comes to character definition/advancement. Just a very initial thought mind you.
Guess I shouldn't feel so bummed about not having my build done in time to play. Heatsink and cable management were a bitch. Finally finished and now l'm loading os. Will download D3 so its ready for me tommrow
Diablo® III Sets PC-Game Launch Record The forces of Sanctuary already stand more than 6.3-million strong and growing
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that as of the first 24 hours of Diablo® III’s release, more than 3.5 million copies had been sold, setting the new all-time record for fastest-selling PC game.* That number does not include the more than 1.2 million players who received Diablo III as part of signing up for the World of Warcraft® Annual Pass promotion. Altogether, more than 4.7 million gamers around the world were poised to storm Sanctuary on day 1 of Diablo III’s release -- representing the biggest PC-game launch in history.
“We’re definitely thrilled that so many people around the world were excited to pick up their copy of Diablo III and jump in the moment it went live”
.As of the first week of the game’s availability, that number had already grown to more than 6.3 million.* The above figures also do not include players in Korean Internet game rooms, where Diablo III has become the top-played game, achieving a record share of more than 39% as of May 22.†
“We’re definitely thrilled that so many people around the world were excited to pick up their copy of Diablo III and jump in the moment it went live,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We also regret that our preparations were not enough to ensure everyone had a seamless experience when they did so. I want to reaffirm our commitment to make sure the millions of Diablo III players out there have a great experience with the game moving forward, and I also want to thank them for their ongoing support.”
“Regarding today’s announcement, we recognize that setting a new launch record is a big achievement,” Morhaime continued. “However, we’re especially proud of the gameplay feedback we’ve received from players worldwide. We’re pleased that Diablo III has lived up to players’ high expectations, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more players into Sanctuary in the days ahead.”
Diablo III went live on May 15, with more than 8,000 retailers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau opening their doors to players at midnight or concurrently with the local release time in celebration of the launch. In addition to being able to buy the game at retail stores, gamers in the regions above as well as in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil are also able to purchase Diablo III digitally via the official Diablo III website (http://www.diablo3.com).
Commenting on the game’s sales achievement, Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop, stated, “Diablo III was one of our biggest PC launches ever and will help make this a record year for Blizzard at GameStop.”
According to John Love, director of video games at Amazon.com, “Not only did Diablo III break the record for most preordered PC game of all-time on Amazon.com, but it also shattered the record for best day-one sales for any PC game ever on Amazon.com.” Blizzard thanks its retail partners around the world for their support and commitment to the Diablo series.
Diablo III is available for Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 and Macintosh® at a suggested price of $59.99 USD for both the retail DVD-ROM version and the digital version sold directly from Blizzard. The game has received a Mature rating from the ESRB.
Players in the Latin American countries listed above and in Russia will be able to purchase Diablo III at local retail locations starting June 7. Digital availability via http://www.diablo3.com for the Russian version of the game will also begin June 7. In addition to the English version, Diablo III is fully localized into Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, European Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian, Korean, and traditional Chinese.
Diablo III is the latest chapter in Blizzard’s critically acclaimed action–role-playing-game series. The game continues the epic Diablo storyline, with players taking on the role of one of five heroic characters -- barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, or demon hunter -- and embarking on a perilous quest to save the world of Sanctuary from the corrupting forces of the Burning Hells. As players adventure through rich and varied settings, they’ll engage in pulse-pounding combat with hordes of monsters and challenging bosses, grow in experience and ability, acquire artifacts of incredible power, and meet key characters who’ll join them in battle or aid them in other ways. Diablo III features the intuitive interface, fast-paced action, and visceral gameplay that Diablo players have come to expect and enjoy.
Designed from the ground up to leverage the full functionality of the Battle.net® platform, Diablo III also provides gamers with industry-leading matchmaking and communication tools, allowing adventurers to seamlessly join forces for cooperative play. Battle.net also provides the infrastructure for the Diablo III auction house, a feature-rich marketplace that Sanctuary’s heroes can use to trade their hard-earned treasures. To learn more about the auction house and the other features of Diablo III, please visit the official website at http://www.diablo3.com.

much appreciated. Between my school work and my obvious gaming habit and my wife and daughter I dont get much time for anything else, I would like to start 3d modeling again but I have noone who can use the models at the moment. If you guys know anyone that needs someone quite handy with 3ds max hit me up.
So I would reccommend everyone to check the AH regularly. I bought a wiz offhand for 65k and turned it around for 255k making a 190k profit off of it and the item sold within 10 minutes of being on the AH. It pays to keep an eye on the AH. Big items to look for are wiz offhands, resist gear, rings, and amulets.

Sorry about the overly large pic I have been trying to fix it but the website isn't agreeing with my pc so I cant get in there to adjust it.
