Yeah we were racing them at The Ring, and after a few minutes of uncharacteristic silence we decided that we were concentrating way too much for this to be fun smiley

R3 race cars are a completely different animal.  Tons of downforce make them easier than A class cars to drive.  R3 supercars are not so easy to control.  The sliding was constant, and you needed to be concentrating just to keep sharp for the never ending corrections required to keep it on the road.

The JGTC or whatever they are are exremely manageable and R3-R2's?

The cars aren't as lairy this time round haha :D

He he, yeah that Holden was a baptism of fire right enough.

We tested R3 supercars, and decided that far too much concentration was required to make them fun.

In the David vs. Goliath series I think the Mini will appeal more to the newer drivers for its ease of handling.  It will apeal to Gizzie because, well, it's a Mini laugh

In the Old vs. New series both cars will be a moderate handful for the newer guys.  They ARE Mustangs, and sometimes that Torque can be tough.

In the classic Scooby vs. Evo there should be nothing difficult to handle anywhere here.  Extremely forgiving, and stable as a mountain goat even banging into each other.  Tourni and I were swapping paint at every corner, and the cars hardly reacted to contact at all.

Spot on with your assesment there Pap, Mini is great, easy and corners on rails, the Mustangs are...Mustangs and as such Knight hates them, Scooby and Evo will be my favorite without doubt.

This isn't my first rodeo wink

Not sure if Tourni changed the Boss Mustang tune (appart from my rims that he didn't seem to like cause he's got no taste cheeky), but when I was driving it you could really feel the difference when the tires warmed up.  The first two laps around Catalunya National were really sketchy in spots, but as the tires heated up the grip really came on.  It really made it apparent just how much tire temps are taken into consideration in this edition of the game.

Also if Tourni hasn't updated the actual tune itself keep in mind it was a "best guess" tune, and no tweaks were made yet based on testing results.

Haha no changes to the tune - they arent refined at all.  We will refine them, but we dont really know what direction we need to go until we can run them hard.

Was good fun round catalunya though :)

That holden was a true aussie v8 haha.

I think the 2 shorter races will help things be a bit closer :)   I'm going back to my original focus of a race is good if there is a battle and not a clean win.

Could not agree more, would make no differece if I was out in front on my own or at the back on my own, if I'm not fighting with another car or two I'm not racing, just driving. A great battle for tenth is more fun than an easy win any day of the week smiley

I have a pair of Saleens that are quite close, 281 and 281E, I think the E's a bit more of a straigthaway beast, and the smaller 281 rocks a corner, but both are A class? Quite close overall...( mustang's??? wink)

we now have our new league in place with everyones new divisions.

Next thing i need is a room qualification choice.  The room qualies will be done pre series, so if you turn up you get your room, if you dont then everyone moves up a slot :)

I'm thinking A BMW M5 at Road America? STOCK  And i will open qualification in a couple of weeks with time slots.

Who wants to help host a room?

Spot on :)

This is going to be much easier to manage and sign up for now  i think.

Basically there is a table where people type "yes" to attend an event or "no" to not.  Then race day i'll filter the list to "yes" and it will give me everyone on order of room invites :D

So much easier!

Everyone is welcome :)

Sign ups :-

The qualification works like this.

There is set of qualification events for the whole series.

Attend as many events as you like, 1st come 1st served.  (please leave space for others though)

Add your name to the slot in which you wish to participate, when the event is run a time will be added to you.   Your fastest clean time is recorded.

----

Church and Gizzie could you host a qualification room? (add these to the right of my rooms on the appropraite date you wish to run them.   Time slot can be any thing you like and in GMT time zone.   (i think there should be enough)

Car and track TBC

----

I will transfer the details to a EUSL events thread soon.

Tourni, I'm already confused, there are three dates listed on the sheet, Are we running all three to qualify, or is it open and a best of situation? See, this organized thing you'd think would make it easier, but I get rattled...

These are open rooms.  You sign up for as many as you like, but only your fastest will count.

I have 2 time slots on 14th 15th, then the following week.

Church and gizzie may host additional ones that suit them anywhere from 14th April till 22nd April

This way everyone gets a chance to qualify and should create a bit of competition.

I agree.  There should be exceptions made in cases like this.  Learn from the mistake made by leaving HyperChurch back there...
