Fable: The Journey demo (kinect only)
I tried this yesturday an was not impressed at the best and completely frustrated at the worst. The graphics were underwhelming and given the lack of control, expected someting a little more polished in the eye candy department.
the kinect controls seemed to work at first during learning how to use magic, but when combat started it failed. So unfortunate. You can combine voice with the magic but for some reason during combat the voice doesn't seem to work most of the time. Aiming is a travesty during combat as well and i felt like rage quitting. Oh well... Hopefully it worx better for someone else.
Ya that's about what I'd expect. The new Harry Potter game is 100% kinect focused as well, the past two were 'better' with kinect. I'm interested in seeing what the reviews ar eon that. But overall Kinect really sucks as a controller.
I wouldn't buy any Fable product.
I've noticed walmart and mabye one other place have Fable Journey for 15 bucks, i'd give it a try for that if i can find it.
Wow $15. You know, for the frustration I felt during the demo, I would find it hard to pay $5.
I tried the demo out over the weekend, deleted it within 20 minutes. I couldn't even get thru the tutorial, got stuck where there's a medium height wall inf ront of you and a dude out on a platform in the water. YOu had to use your right had to cast a lightening ball to go up over the wall then direct it mid flight once it cleared the wall so it would turn and hit the target. Couldn't get that shit to work at all. It kept casting multiple balls instead of grabbing the one out there and altering it's flight path. $15 saved, pass for me.
Devs try and get too fancy with Kinect, it's just simply not capable of tracking complex movements. Keep it simple and it works fine.
