Always the same FUCKING MESS with microsoft first its on line issues
then you get NAT problems.
Moved to next week may be we wont have all this crap again.
Signing out,
see you on track,
AMber.
The timing was unfortunate but really, this was the first time I have encountered something like this after 5+ years of XBL . . . Looking forward to next week with more refined Kia!
I too find the action a little too aggressive at times. I think it is because everyone truly believes that they have the right. One has the right AS LONG AS he/she is not hurting anyone else's chances, knowingly or unknowingly.
Just like freedom, the right of freedom is not truly free; you do not have the right to go shoot someone because you can and you want to do it. You are free to do anything you like --- so long as you do not harm the freedom of other people.
On track behaviour should be the same. Treat others as you would like to be treated; with respect and courtesy. If an advantage was taken unfairly, give it back. Instead of saying sorry, avoid being that situation in the first place; back off the throttle, brake earlier, brake off line, etc. It does not come overnight and one has to consciously practice at it. It is NOT a difficult thing to do. Believe it or not, slowing down is much easier than trying to go faster.
There only needs to be ONE rule on track: Give space.
You cannot gain or secure space; you can only give it. You don't even have to give space if you don't want to, just don't take someone else's.
And don't right it off as "this is just a game." For some it is. For me it is not (sad, but true). We race because we are passionate about racing / tuning / painting, etc. That make Forza (or any other multiplayer game) more than "just" a game; this is active social interaction. As such, we should all give respect, give space, and most importantly, freely admit our mistakes and faults.
OK, on to squeeze another 1/10th out of that damn Kia!
That was a masterpiece I just read. Well done GRD, Parcells couldn't possibly put it any better but I'm high and everyone knows I'm a big mouth so with that I'll add...
I watch a lot of F1, as in almost every race for 20 some years now and lots of CART/IRL, and without a doubt the guys are always saying there's usually only 1 to 3 realistic corners to pass on any given track. That's with basically equal cars/drivers which we dont have but the point is made.
Disregarding NASCAR, which I encourage everyone to do, there are still a lot of accidents in real life racing and these guys are professionals. I dont know about the rest of you but I'm fairly certain there are others who share Parcells beliefs that on-line racing should be done slightly buzzed (been real drunk before pretty much useless and very dangerous/unreliable driving) or high or my personal favorite both. So really quick judgement mistakes will be made from time to time but you dont have to be high or drunk to screw up as the professionals prove week in and week out.

Yes, that is my "problem" too. I really want to win. I am really taking training lessons and race for hours just to get a step onto the podium in room B. My wife doesn't understand it: "Aaargh, you are playing again?" "NOOOOO! It is ..... life." Just like Steve McQueen said in "Le Mans" "All that is before and after a race is just waiting."
By the way: Because I am taking this all too serious, I am sometimes not as fast as I could be. I often push too hard. Slow in - fast out! I know that, but my feet on the brake and gas pedal do not following my orders. :-) I am working on it! (Thanks GRD 4 3L).
I hope we won't have XBL issues on sunday. I can not wait to start my Audi!

@Fitzy: Are you really smashing controllers against walls? Are you living alone? We old guys have to act as a model, remember! On the other side: Bob Seger "Well I'm older now and still runnin' against the wind".
My wife doesn't understand it: "Aaargh, you are playing again?"
Who here haven't heard that?
True funny story. Back in Gran Turismo 1 days, my wife complained that she was hearing car engine noises while she was sleeping. So she woke up . . . to find me sound asleep beside her.
Maybe I was making the engine/tire sounds while sleeping . . .
@Jdan many year's ago when I used to play Call of Duty I did lose a controller against the floor with a few expletives thrown in for good measure. I was on my own as my wife and son were out so only my neighbour might have heard me. I don't play Call of Duty any more.
Tomorrow the BTCC will start the fourth race of season two. All teams headed to Japan one week ago, but last sunday the weather conditions (heavy rains with electro-magnetical storms) was so worse, that the racing stewards postponed the race.
"Safety first! This is our standard. Okay, sometimes racing under such circumstances built legends - remember Japan 1976 James Hunt -, but we only take risks, which are manageable.", said Church Pro.
In the backyard of the press room a personal remark was heard, but it was not clear who said it: "If Church only would drive so. With manageable risk."
The teams used the week for additional training sessions. Some improved their setups and times. "It will be a real fight on this track. The times are very close together.", said JCotter, who visited his old mates from Forza after playing a little concert in a Bar near the track.
"I am not happy at all. I took nearly 200 rounds, tested many different setups, tried different racing lines, but after all of that I am only running ........ I won't tell here, but I know that I am not on pole. Hopefully I will achieve some points. I don't know what it is, but I am not feeling happy on this track. It is hard to explain, why I make at least one mistake in each round.", said JDANKERT to a reporter, who met him sitting on a wall after the frist corner. There he had parked his car, after a wild ride into the sand. "He looked very sad and...", reported the journalist, "... stared into the evening sun."
Today the last training rounds will be driven. May be there are some racers who will meet during a common session.
That was an enjoyable read, jdan.

Giddy up!
I disagree, there is the emotional pain and the cost of a new controller when it's smashed against a wall.

Thanks Gunny but I discovered Battlefield and found it to be less stressful, so I will be getting Battlefield 4 tomorrow.
