^^^^What he said.....I dont have a teammate (unless you call Stewie my pivot man)...but I have to agree this all seems a little confusing...So even though I went thru the trouble of painting 2 cars that I guees I can only race one of them...Im going to bow out...
As for the rolling starts, well thats what a shakedown is for. We tried that and it didnt work to well so it was changed to a delayed start grouped by bucket, which i think worked better. I was happy with that and i thought the rest of the lobby was too.
The rules were pretty simple too. build, paint and race 2 cars. How hard is that! There were no more rules than any other series.
I also wished grim would put it back the way
it was gives new drivers like myself a chance
at Silver Cup.
To be clear i stand no chance the way things
are now......:-[

I too would love to be able to run the series how I had hoped to run it however I need to have 6-7 drivers silver cup championship drivers (with similar capabilities) that will be competing in a majority of the races and not just as a one off type of thing here and there.
Here is the list of names that "could" run for the Silver Cup championship but would need to know how committed to the series they are.
Chief941
X GunnyBass X
SkiwiNV
BigDaddy
AMber2green68
Hundresthshrimp
XXsitement
Out of that list, we only had 3 drivers race last week in the shake down event and would need to hear from them soon on thier commitment level to the series. Even at that, Chief, shrimp and xxsitement "might" still be too fast (for the silver group) however handicaps would slow them down by the 2nd/3rd race so Im not overly concerned.
Lets see who shows up next week and we can discuss prior to the first race. For the others guys, it really will have minimal impact on which way this goes.
So after talking it over with a few folks , the original concept we tested Saturday night will be in place. I want to thank everyone for thier patience as we worked through this and Im glad the concept of the series is back in force.

Snappy and I have talked and he will be running with a minimum of 5% handicap and we may add weight to his car to ensure he is competitive with the group. In short I will be watching the silver cup standings and will adjust the cars on a case by case basis if anyone is running away with it. There are a couple other drivers in that group that can be quick as well however we will see how it goes the first couple weeks and adjust as needed.
All that said, there is still room to sign up for the series but please remember the concept of the series and again, everyone will be allowed to race in both cars, The difference is which championship you will earn points in and were you start on the grid.
Grim....I want to ask to be put back in the mix....I admit that I was all fucked and confused on how this thing is layed out but after looking at the OP it came to me..(I think).. I can appreciate what you are doing with getting newer racers involved...I know Im not going to be able to make this Sat but I should make most of the other races..hopefuly...So put me where you want me and Ill race when I can..Im not in it for the points I just want to race

Could someone share their tunes with xsitement. I had trouble driving last week with the base build. I did try my hand a few times at tuning for other series, only to make it worst than the base build.

Me too please Max. If memory serves me right I take your tune, lower the caster setting and Parcells is good to go :) Not to worry I'll still let you beat me. Thanks bud!
Change in the schedule guys. I want to run another shakedown event this week (8/24) so I can finalize the car requirements for the guys running for the Silver Cup Championship
We will be running the following tracks on 8/24. Hope to see you on the track.
Lotus Elise - Catalunya National - 5 laps, Motegi East - 5 laps and Suzuka West - 5 Laps
Lotus Evora - Infineon Long - 5 Laps, Maple Valley Full Reverse - 5 laps and Suzuka Full - 5 Laps
Grim, whatever you need. We talked and you know that I am willing to run the races with handicaps, weight added or whatever.
As far as "organized" series go... I like them. They give a purpose when I get on the Xbox. I'm either painting my car for the races or fine tuning it so it handles as well as I can get it. Granted, I'm basically middle of the pack around here but that's okay...I still enjoy racing with you guys.
As far as the details go... That's not what is fun for me. I enjoy trying to recreate some of the real life series that I follow. I watch a lot of different racing series and many of those cars are in this game. I just find it a shame when the cars aren't used. I love spec races where everyone is in the same car but TBH it can get stale after a while. Nearly every series I have done has had multiple cars. I just prefer it that way. The cars Grim has chosen are great so I expect that it won't be boring at all.
Grim, I don't remember ever seeing a series like this in this club. I think it's a good concept and worth a try. Nearly every series has its bumps but those can be ironed out as the series goes on. Sometimes racers should just support the idea and the organizer and see how it turns out. If I don't like a car or a series I just don't run in it. But I do that quietly.
Your hard work is appreciated. See you on the track.
BTW, the preferred method of expressing concerns has usually been to send the organizer a PM about it. That way the potential for conflict is minimized. It's hard enough to attract participants. Causing more confusion doesn't help.
Tonight a few of us ran some laps mostly in the silver Cup car and the concept seems to be working. Removing the weight reduction for Snappy and Shrimp really brought them into the mix and should be a good battle and its going to be fun watching that battle.
Tomorrows shakedown event will really help finalize the process and I look forward to seeing everyone on the track.
Sorry everyone I was so off my game it wasn't funny, I couldn't drive to save my life. I was getting seriously annoyed with myself so it was better to leave rather than lose it completely.
Grim, thnkyou once again for the opportunity to run with you guys last night, most enjoyable.
Found the lotus elise 111s great car to drive well good choose of tracks.
Max,car tune on the elise handled beautifully, found the evora a difficult
drive.
Apart from that will be a great series to run with MaxPerforma Racing.
Looks like i'll be cleaning toilets in headquarters for all the series!!!
Not sure what to make from last night, running up front with the Elise, dead last with the Evora. I ran a series with the Evora in the past, ran mid pack. Hopefully I can get my issue sorted out before next Saturday. This is shaping up to be a close seies for both Silver and Gold, had a great time racing last night.
Sorry, I didn't make it. Went to dinner with my wife for our birthdays so I got back late. I'm looking forward to this series. I'll be practicing and tweaking in the Elise so if any of the silver cup guys see me on feel free to send me an invite for some friendly practice sessions. Anyone in need of a paint or decals can also hit me up.
Good shake down. Grim i think this is going to work out very well. And it is a lot of fun to be part of a pack instead of racing by myself at the back. cept infineon, THAT TRACK LIKES ME. LOL
^^^^What he said.....I dont have a teammate (unless you call Stewie my pivot man)...but I have to agree this all seems a little confusing...So even though I went thru the trouble of painting 2 cars that I guees I can only race one of them...Im going to bow out...
LOL.
I don't understand how this is confusing to be honest.
You can and do race both cars both races.
You score points for one series not both.
What series you score points in was assigned to you based on your speed and/or finishing position in prior championship events.
I guess it doesn't matter though since this is now going to simply be scored as any other event.
You run two races with different cars
You score points for both races.
Whoever has the most points at the end of the season wins the championship.
But I liked it the first way.
That way I could have a serious need to score points race and a race for fun and not having to worry about points.
[Yoda voice]that is why you fail.[/Yoda voice]
I know, I need to lay of the fun and concentrate more on getting points!
Cheers for the heads up Parcels!
I have to agree.
The concept of the series wasnt hard to grasp.

The space is somewhat annoying

I'm all there Grim still count me in.
The bucket system worked.
Sliver Cup Championship.

:( Was never gonna make this Saturday's run (previous plans) so see you next week.

No worries Fitzy. I too was a bit off my game and was having issues.
Here are the final placements and there are still room for others to join.
First race of the season will start on September 7th @ Catalunya National and GP
* = Will run the Elise with the weight reduction set to stock
